How To Install A Herringbone Tile floor on Schluter Ditra XL. Time Lapse

SUBSCRIBE Learn how tile the right way
Herringbone tile floor being installed over ditra in a back hall, a 4"x12" porcelain tile installed on a herringbone pattern. Herringbone tile pattern can be very difficult to get right if you don't plan ahead and do a good layout so you don't end up with tiny little pieces, so it is critical to stay straight and square to keep all the grout lines even and prevent the tile pattern from running off. The tile was installed with a 1/8' grout line over Schluter Ditra XL uncoupling membrane and a contrasting grout color was used to highlight the herringbone pattern.
All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area. This video contains affiliate links, which means I will receive a small commission if you click on the product link.

No need to prime, the thinset is designed to stick to plywood. Sweep, vacum, dampen, key and spread your thinset with the proper notched trowel.
