This is how we installed our Dometic Fantastic Vent Fan in our campervan. There's a lot of debate between the MaxxAir Fan and the Fantastic, but in our experience, the low profile of the Fantastic Fan, the extra light it adds to the van, plus the cheaper price make it a really desirable product!

When you’re cooking with a propane cooktop in a camper van it’s extremely important that you have proper ventilation. Burning propane and other gases release CO (carbon monoxide) emissions which are harmful if you breathe them in. If you’re going to do Vanlife with a gas cooker, you should always have your Fantastic Fan turned on to suck the air out. It helps if you crack a window to allow for full air-flow circulation in the camper!
This fan also features reversible airflow which can create a breeze inside your van on hot days, or suck the air out! The tinted lid allows for light to enter the van but not so much that it keeps you awake in bright places at night. All in all, we love the Dometic Fantastic Fan and would recommend it to anyone new to van life!
