BoostedMotorsports I’m trying to fix the issue with my headers, I get that rattle and once it warms up but comes back in idle. Anyways would it be best to first buy the diablosport tuner and then the headers along with the rest of things to install.??? That’s my big concern at the moment. Thanks

09 Ram 5.7 with 227,000 miles haven’t had one issue from the motor going to change plugs tomorrow Best truck I’ve owned hands down

charlie ryan thanks Charlie! You can usually find them on eBay for around $200-$250 you just have to make sure it is "unmarried" from the previous vehicle. I think at that price point it's more worthwhile. I think I would be disappointed with the canned tune at the 400+ price point though!

I had this for my 2010 Ram 1500 and it made a night and day difference. Huge power gain, IMO.

Be sure to turn off the damn MDS too. The MDS is horrible on the 2012 and extremely noticeable with a modified exhaust.

@@dtfaaron it's what kicks the truck down to four cylinders. It gives the truck a terrible exhaust note and causes an annoying delay in the throttle response.

Its in the tune parameters just before you write the tune! Its not in quick adjust area unfortunately and you have to rewrite the tune to change it.

Can I used this tuner for other vehicles or it has to be plug in the whole time?

Hey John, can this unit set the same pedal response as I saw on the Pedal Commander? My 1500 is so sluggish coming off a red light. Not that I’m a lead foot but I hate it when a Pinto can burn you coming out of a stop.

When installing the Diablo sport tuner or the HP tuners did you have to get your PCM flashed.

Whats going to be the difference between this 1 and the larger mounted 1. The one mr hot damn has. On the fly tuning?

I am quite surprised, I usually don’t agree with people. I went from my 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK to the 2013 Ram 5.7L ( Miss my Jeep, disadvantage to being a big guy :( . But I too feel like the throttle lags, it’s not much but it’s noticeable in the pedal, especially on windy roads.

Diablosport actually has the settings lowered for the fan to kick in at 204* with their tunes. The stock tune Dodge has the electric fan set to come on around 222*. I haven't changed the fan settings from Diablosport's lowered settings until I decide what I want to do with the damn active grille shutters that I explained in the other video!

will this work on a 2021 1500? starting a max mpg project like you did with one and so far I've got on a list are the shorty headers, cold air intake, and a mpg tune. Is that all or is there anything else I am missing?

But you can only do this if you unlock your pcm right?

Hey Robert! You can run a tune, just if you ever had any issues I would remove the tune before bringing the truck in. Lots of people have been doing this for years without issues. Also totally up to you if you want to run an 87 or 91 tune. Won't hurt your engine running 87 with a tune you will just make more power with a 91 tune running 91 gas.

Doesnt 5.7 hemis require 89 octane and higher??? On my dodge magnum hemi it states that only 89 octane to be used. I just tuned it with the 91 tune but use 93 octane since i dont have 91 octane avalaible

Have you thought about getting the pulsar and the pedal commander for your 4th gen? They tune on the fly and really wake up the hemi. I never tried the Diablo but it seems like a pain.

Yeah you can run both but they are basically just doing the same thing. My pedal is already super touchy with the 20% and my bored out throttle body. Anything more would be too much!

Marco Ferreira they haven't released support yet for the 2013-2014 8spd so I can't adjust anything yet with this 👎

Hey Craig unfortunately I believe on 2015+ models you have to send in your PCM to Diablosport to have it unlocked. Then once you do this you can use this exact same tuner. The positive side is that your 2015 model you can tune the 8spd transmission and I can't yet cause Diablosport is still working on it. Yes you are supposed to run 91 octane gas with the 91 tune but you can select the 87 octane tune if you want to run 87. Let me know if you have any other questions!

The reason you need to run 91 octane for the 91 tune is because they adjust the timing. And with 87 octane you will get pre detonation or "knock". So please run 91 octane in your vehicle with tje 91 tune to avoide damage.

How is the e fan working for you I travel from where I live Wisconsin to Florida and Texas how has it been Driving in the heat as your truck over heated at all

I just converted to the v6 Efan last week as well as the 185 temp thermostat without any mods and it's been running great. I'm in Arizona 107 degree weather and no overheating whatsoever! 100% you will be able to tell the difference when driving.

I have the Diablo Trinity tuner. I have a 2016 Dodge ram 1500 hemi. U do have to get a unlock pcm with the tuner. I had 87 tuned and I tried 91 and changed the fuel not a big difference no point in spending more money on gas to feel no difference cause the truck already eats alot of gas.

Yeah 2015 and up need the unlocked PCM but 2014 and earlier don't If you haven't already you should get the 8spd trans tune for your truck. They released it for your truck but not my model year yet! It's a free update just plug your trinity into your computer and update it.

Yes sir just go to their website and download their program called ignition here: www.diablosport.com/downloads/ It will update your trinity and give you trans tuning capability. Apparently the DiabloSport trans tune is only slightly better but if you get a custom tune from Hemifever or Jay Greene it is apparently AMAZING after! Still waiting for them to release the update for my truck but they are taking forever.

Bro I have a question. Does the ignition update can be used for the Trinity? In the description it says intunes1000? Is that the same as the Trinity 1000

Yes sir! If you want even more performance you can buy a tune from hemifever or Jay Greene and they will email it to you. You load it with the Diablosport tuner.

If you are 2015+ You will need a unlocked PCM no matter which tuner you pick HP or this 👍

It probably wouldn't be cost effective to be honest. The MPG gains are minimal and would be hard to recoup the $400 it costs. It does wake the truck up performance wise though. There are other ways to gain MPG

Ram 1500 brothers! BEWARE!!! Installed the intune i2 on my Ram 1500 with the tech on the phone and it crashed my PCM! Had to send my PCM to Diablo and have them recover it. They were very good about everything, but was without my truck for two days. When I got the PCM back and reinstalled it (no tuner), check engine light was on, truck began honking and lights flashing, running or not, like I had hit the panic button. After well over an hour on the phone with there techs again, truck was finally running rt again. Their final answer after two days of no work and MANY hours on the phone, I got the answer of, we will replace the tuner and sorry all this happened, for my trouble! If you do decide to move forward and have any issues, be sure the speak with either Johnathan or Ken. Both guys were super helpful thru this three day very frustrating situation! Good luck!

Hey Walter probably about 1-2mpg. I t was also a noticeable difference in throttle response not having the big propeller attached to my engine anymore.

Is this with the factory PCM or the unlocked one you can get from diablo?

It is hit or miss at the pumps! Most have 91 but sometimes you will see 93

Honestly there are a ton of reported issues, crashes and bugs with these Diablosport tuners. I gave up and switched to HP Tuners and its been problem free 👍

It does a few things! Changes the tuning of the engine so that it make more HP & TQ. You can also change tire sizes, disable traction control, speed limiters, rev limiters and alot more. You can also adjust the gas pedal for quicker response like you were asking with this tool. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Boosted2k I have a couple questions I am thinking about getting a truck and I am leaning towards a ram 1500 5.7 6speed I saw 0-60 stock is roughly 7sec. I know Chevy got 5.3 engine size not sure about ford. But I’m pretty sure it’s crap. Wondering what I can do to make ran faster if I decide to get it also do you recommend it. Or would you rather go with something else don’t want to spend a lot on actual dodge sport. Sorry for all the questions just want to get info before I make decision btw nice truck!

You can adjust the fine tuned critical components in a vehicle, this option adjusts the Injectors to spray more/less fuel and control the airflow going into/out engine, these adjustments can be used to maximize hp and torque or used to maximize economic impact, factory is designed to be the middle giving both the ability to pull a trailer and drive daily to work with max mpg at setting. For street use and long range travel the performance is based more on hp, while for “work” use such as towing, pulling, and high speed at high acceleration (Cornering) the torque is key, for a vehicle to be able to reach its limits and live a long life the adjustments must be made based on how the vehicle is driven, a balance so to speak. This tool is just the beginning, a thorough tuning goes through the entire vehicle from CPU, and Engine, to Suspension and Transmission. If you plan to own your vehicle for as long as possible, why not make it your own. :)

Yes I believe it is 2015 and up that all require the unlocked PCM. On the positive side though at least you will be able to tune your 8spd transmission with the tuner. Us 2013-2014 guys have been left in the dark by Diablosport and they are still working on unlocking this feature for us :(

It's a small unit but its a full blown tuner for our trucks. You can tune the engine and transmission on most models (Except mine unfortunately) You can use their canned tunes or you can get a custom tune from someone like HemiFever or Jay Greene sent to you and you simply load it up! You can also make your gas pedal more responsive similar to a pedal commander.

That's literally an old iPod. Apple probably sold them a bunch of old stock.

This hand held tuner only works on 2009-2010 Ram 5.7L. Starting in 2011 FCA locked the PCM and you have to change that, or get a new PCM, or a piggyback PCM.

@JD Spears I stand corrected. I was going off what my buddy was telling me. He probably didn’t know what he was doing on his 2011 Ram. Apparently from the information I have since looked into it is 2015 and up with the locked PCM’s. Thank you for putting out correct information 👍🏼

Ram's have a mechanical and electronic fan. Unless you're looking for the electronic fan, it's super easy to miss. It's right up against the radiator or AC condensor.
