your RAM can be expanded to a max of 32 GB 16GB in each slot. you can add an M.2 SSd from 128GB up to 1TB links are above for the ssd drives there is a 1TB option which works
Did this make boot time much faster? Did you have to clone this as well or move everything over to this drive? Trying to decide if I should do this or just replace the HDD with a SDD.

You would have to install the OS on the SDD for it to boot faster, load things faster, etc. Otherwise it won't provide any benefit other than fast access to stuff stored on it.

Could you please do a tutorial on how to format the SSD, how to make it boot correctly and how to reinstall windows 10? I hear the Aspire is loaded with bloatware so I would love to reboot it cleanly. Thanks for your help!

You can do that performance wise wont make too much of a difference performance wise but i don't see why not!

This is an m.2 SSD designed for one slot in the computer. the 2.5 inch square ones are SSD replacements for your actual HDD. Look up m.2 SSD. I hope that helps

Not automatically but please see the link in the description on how to clone to SSD and make it the boot drive video. it explains how to do this after installation.
