How to Install 12V LED Lights | Van Electrics | DIY Sprinter Van Conversion UK

Here it is - the finale! The last in this short series of electrical videos - wiring up my 12v LED lights.
I decided to install six lights in total and made sure to wire them up in parallel so that the power was distributed evenly. This also meant if one light was to fail, the other five would continue to work.
To wire each light in parallel, I used T-Tap connectors as they allow you to easily create a ’T-junction’ in the wiring.
I connected each light to the circuit using male and female cable connectors so that if I did need to replace a light, I can simply unplug it from the system.
For the light switch, I bought a cheap touch-sensitive dimmer switch that works a charm.
I don’t want to oversell it but this could be one of the greatest achievements of my life.

I am hopeless with DIY other than making wooden garden planters -- I bumped onto your video because I was looking at how to replace 12v spotlight but I have watched all of it. You have explained very well everything and I loved seeing the joy on your face when the lights came on! Thank you!

Hi , Nice and very informative video! Would you mind to give me a little advice? I’m going to install 3 lights in my renault trafic van. Question is. The old lights has a 3 core cable and most of led lights has only red and black wire. How can I install 2 wire led into 3 wire circuit? Many thanks

Thanks dude! If the lights have a 3 core cable, that means they were running off an AC current, whereas 2 wire LEDs will likely be requiring a DC current so won’t be compatible. Where’s the power source for the lights?
