    any tips on how to be better at knowing which note would sound good with the tune you’re improvising to?

  • @Violinspiration

    @Violinspiration

    Жыл бұрын

    You have to know what key the tune you are improvising is in. Then you can play the notes of the arpeggio for that key. In any order they will sound nice. The arpeggio is the tonic, 3 and 5 note of the scale. I hope that helps. Good luck!

    I'm trying to learn blues improvising. I have zero information about improvising , if I'm improvising using A minor blues scale, must the Backing Track be in A minor too? Or is it fine to improvise using any scale on any Backing Track?

  • @Violinspiration

    @Violinspiration

    4 ай бұрын

    Usually if you are playing with a group, it is best to find the key they are playing in and improvise in the same key, so the same would apply to a backing track.

  • @Violinspiration

    @Violinspiration

    You can do it! I am not sure how the bridge would effect tuning your violin. What is the difficulty you are having? Usually the issue is more the pegs.

    Violin kills me because for over 35 years (70% of my life) I’ve played bass and sang. I always viewed solos as the tool of the lazy songwriter. Now I must learn this delicate instrument that’s near sole purpose is to create a melody as opposed to a chordal backup. I catch myself just outlining the chord I’m on. Not too melodic at all.
