Very practical and organized approach! It reminds me of Richard Wood, when I studied with him. I also admire Tony Ryder, but have little opportunity to attend his ateliers. Please keep up your posting to help other Artists!

Thanks for the tips and suggestions, definitely worth the time and practice as well. What I’m doing at te moment is painting small studies in black and white and in color after I make a drawing. I put gesso in a few pages so they will be ready when I decide to paint. Later on, I will pick one of these studies to make a big painting. It is relaxing and time is the factor where I need to make it work. Great video! Blessings and take care.

3hmmm….I like this idea of having pictures of painting to copy to learn from in a sketch book. I’ll definitely try this idea…..thanks

My pleasure. I have found it to be very useful to ensure that I am practicing consistently no matter my surroundings.

Wow, that is an enormous compliment. I have a long way to go to be on his level. All that i know for certain is that I have an overwhelming passion that keeps me practicing every single day, so we will see what happens next...

thank you for the tips!... i find that i dont have so much time to draw these days.. and i dont wanna loose that ability.. and i think too much about sketching.. so just drawing a sketch could keep me in game, which is refreshing to me :)

Your sketchbooks look beautiful. My old graphite sketchbooks have mostly smeared away to gray blobs. I flirted with using fixative more regularly, but tend to just use ink in sketchbooks these days.

Nice! I use spectra fix to preserve my drawings. It is a milk enzyme based fixative that doesn't have a strong odor and is highly effective.
