Patrick's playing here is so energetic that it's infectious. In just eight bars he can make the whole section groove with his out playing. Make sure to check these guys out with the links above. Leave any requests for VGM solo transcriptions in the comments and if I like it enough I might do it.

Haha, this is so sick! Thanks for highlighting a fun little bit of this tune! I tried my best to "pass the ball" to a bunch of people on this arrangement!

No problem, Pat's solo was too good not to transcribe. Also I love what you did with this tune. The slower funk jam was so unexpected, but it worked so well. Everyone's solos were great and they were all bouncing off each other. Thanks for posting this!

@@nintendocovers242 The original idea was the bass battle duel between Adam Neely and Charlie Rosen, which that's all basses doing all of this stuff. If anything the instrumentation is slightly different for the "Single Bass" version!

@@DomPalombiMusic That bass battle was great. It’s cool how you expanded the song to a nine part version.
Casual four octave solo with all twelve tones crammed into seven bars. Patrick is one of my favorite players right now.

Same, his solos always make you feel something and his control over the horn is insane.

I can play four octaves and all twelve tones in a fraction of the time.. making me the world record speed runner of this soloing technique

That sounded pretty diatonic, u think he used all 12 tones?

@@nliebert41The sheet music is in the video and I counted out 12 tones (assuming the transcription is accurate). A lot of them are chromatic passing tones, but they’re there.
i find it funny how pat just sits there DROPS ABSOLUTE FIRE then goes back to his idle position like it was nothing

He's like that every damn time too. Sure, sometimes he's groovin with shit too, but when he switches on, he switches on.
My boy Carlos pushed up his glasses like "okay my turn"
Dave's head shake says it all. It's almost as if he's saying, "Nope. Not allowed. Nobody can be that good. Not possible."

Pat is unfathomably good, and sitting next to him make it even more impressive. Absolute genius of our time!!
It's insane what he's able to do. It's so musical an natural and you can hear the hours he's put into this. It's as motivating as it is totally defeating.
That drum answer was killer
Always happy seeing Pat get some love. The man is an absolutely monstrous player. I miss the black cat sessions when we were getting spoiled for great uploads.
Amazing solo!!! also "The Lick" at the end is a beautiful addition
Dave is just like what the f*** just happened

I was at a masterclass with him a while ago, fantastic player
When even Carlos gawks at that jump LMAO

Absolutely insane
Threw in the lick there
The goat
I am thoroughly impressed
Yeah, the last riff in the video was impressive D:
Let me tell you to pull off those low notes at that speed and articulation is incredible! This is why the band starts to respond! The high notes are expected but the low notes were unexpected and extremely well placed and funky!
This is top class 😮
Lol yeah, that’d do it
