You are welcome!
Also just as a note. "Solid wood" can still MDF with veneer. It's legal to call it 'solid' so make sure you ask questions and do you due diligence

Lol you just gotta look at the price any real wood is gonna cost you thousands of dollars. My guitar alone costs $1000 made of solid wood and a guitar is small piece of wood compared to furniture
Excellent information! My question about veneer over solid wood is, what is the typical "solid wood' used under or between veneers?

Felix, there is no "typical" wood that is used; there are literally hundreds of wood species used to make furniture so there really is no standard answer to you question I'ms orry.

@@RaleighFurnitureGall thank you for your reply.
a lot of times I laminate in some furniture. What is laminate? Also, when they say engineered wood, does that include plywood, mdf, hds, particle board? Does engineered wood contain anything else that's of higher quality? If furniture is of solid wood with veneer, this is not considered engineer correct? I also recently saw replicate veneer. What is replicate veneer? Thanks so much!
I am not sure if I have sold or not solid wood
What is the older Rooms to go furniture made from?

Carla, it depends on the piece; unfortunately there is no easy answer. In general objects that hold a person's weight (i.e. chairs, bed frames) AND feature exposed wood are solid wood pieces; those that hold weight and the wood is hidden from view (i.e. a sofa) usually are pressed wood. Most other pieces are going to be veneer over particle board; but again this is a generality.
Is Crestwood a good type of wood for round dining room tables? Is it durable? Heavy?

I'm sorry Crystal, I have never even heard of "Crestwood".
This is very helpful! I just have one question. How could I tell the difference between a veneer layer and actual solid wood? I’m looking to start refurbishing furniture and this would be super helpful to know!

Hi Sara, thanks for the question. What you need to do is look at the top back of a piece where the veneer would be attached and look for a very thin seem. If it's there then it's veneer. Don't forget though, you CAN refinish veneer (as long as it's wood veneer); you just have to be a bit more careful. Good luck getting started!
Maybe it was the light or the camera, but the mahogany looked like it was two different woods with a rather thick veneer. Is it more clear that it's just one piece of wood in real life?
Almost of table top for indoor furniture now is making from MDF veneer, FJL veneer because make such furniture use solid Wood is make it expensive and price not competitive.
The Amish still make solid wood handcrafted furniture.
I have Keller fine solid wood furniture. They went out of business because Americans would rather buy cheap imported furniture.
Yeah, don't buy anything that resembles wood from Ashley Furniture...all garbage!
