I think you should green-light Pacific waterways and pond that you know only has signal crayfish in and allow anyone to trap the signal crayfish Without a licence or permit It would only benefit river ponds in UK and people would get good meal out of it.

Is it true that its illegal to return them to the water if caught? I catch them when fishing on my local canal, well I'm pretty certain they are signal crayfish.

@@karlos543 I think you may possibly be correct. They haven't made their way as far north as I live though..... Yet.

@@karlos543 I believe zander have been lowered a category in terms of dangers to our waters. Think you can catch and release them now but I may be very wrong.

People blame Signal crayfish for wiping out the native species, but in most cases they were introduced to replace the native Noble/white claw crayfish which are much more sensitive to human impact on the environment and dying out mainly as a result of pollution caused by humans. I don't believe the claims about them being more aggressive, killing small fish and fish numbers declining where they are most abundant.

Just eat them, that’s what we do in the US. Have a sink full of about 100 right now.
