I’ve undergone allergy testing and intolerance testing years ago and found that I have all the major allergies (cow’s milk, wheat, whole egg, legumes, tree nut, fish, and yeast). This leads to a very limited diet. I learned through the testing that in addition to my allergens, I was intolerant to everything I was eating: chicken, beef, fruits, and a lot of other items. The difference between allergies and intolerances as explained to me is with allergies, your immune system is attacking anything with the protein structure that your body has identified as an intruder. When you are tested, the protein introduced is a representative of a family. For example, the legume family includes soy, peanuts, and lentils. If there is a reaction to the protein, then there is a reaction to the whole family. Intolerances are a learned behavior to the protein. You can develop an intolerance by constantly eating a food item over a period of time. To a certain extent you can break the learned behavior by cycling your foods. For example, I still eat chicken, but I’m careful to not eat it everyday. I also limit my beef intake (ironically the beef can’t be grass fed in my case) to no more than twice a week. There is also a cross reactive allergen to watch out for: birch pollen allergies translate to reactions to cherries, apples, and I think bananas. There are at least two others, that I’m currently drawing a blank on.

Take a smal bite from the food you eat. If you feel bad and got ummune reaction avoid those food. Remember, you may not be alergic or sensitive to the food you eat. You may be alergic to the oil you use to cook with it.

I hope anyone who thinks they have a food intolerance obtains advice from their medical professional. A food intolerance is often the inability of your body to digest certain types of sugars (fructans) in foods. There are simple breath tests for certain sugars like lactose and fructose that any allergy or GI specialist can provide. It's non invasive and quick. It can rule out or diagnose an imbalance of gut bacteria also. Saving a person a lot of time rather than playing a guessing game with their diet.

I took a blood test found allergy and intolerances too: Whey, dairy Pineapple, Eggplant, coconut Gluten, Wheat, Barley, Bran, Rye and Rice Almonds Salmon and crab Foods that aren’t on the list but made me sick like had to go to the hospital sick Pistachio, cashew, chicken, and strawberry I have gastroparesis So i find eating vegetables high in fiber hard for me- and a gastroparesis diet relies on soft “white” foods and i have relied kn lactose free dairy for years now-so like what now…. This is all over whelming- i feel like many of us are in the same boat- im not gonna lie i’ve cried. But when you said struggle with building muscle i found relief bc I’ve been trying for so long - and even as the scale went up I didn’t see muscle gain and i hit a wall where lethargy was Threatening my life style even falling asleep while swimming… this elimination diet will be difficult but I hope i find relief

generally, the feeling of malaise and stomach pain after eating certain foods is my coomon symptoms plus i have this unexplained dizziness came out of nowhere. Because of restricted diet and literaly avoiding everything (just to avoid symptoms) i lost 5 kg of weight and came back to my original weight dated back 7 years ago. Frustrating..but seeing a doctor maybe the solution for all of this. Home treatment may help, doing lots of research and taking probiotic may help too.

One should do a food intolerance test of 200 to 300 food series. You might be surprised what you could be intolerant to. I have personally done it. I am intolerant to egg white , most nuts, cow milk (except Buffalo milk)most dairy products,Oranges, wheat. I have suffered acne my entire life and after elimination diet for 5 years my skin is finally clear and I feel great. Its expensive but its worth it.

Actually food intolerance can cause PROFOUND reactions. I ate a green tomato once which was supposed to be safe for histamine intolerance. I immediately knew I was going to get sick. I took a bunch of meds and focused on the thought that I would eventually recover. Went into a stupor, so was totally oblivious, then suddenly found myself in this whole other place. Total darkness except for the red and yellow flames licking at the base of the horizon. An invisible entity telepathically spoke to me. It wanted to know what was I doing there because "you shouldn't be here.". Another approached and they flanked me , then ordered me to walk to avoid detection. We walked in total darkness with no sensation of the ground. My mind was Crystal clear. Later I returned to this body, sick as a dog and totally out of it. I have multiple food intolerances and this is just one example. Nothing mild about it!
