Oh yes I really enjoyed your video on bronze I really didn't know much about it other than Olympics awards give bronze out then but I didn't know the history of it or know how it looks when it's the best quality abroad. I really wish they would have more schools that teach you about metals not just about gold silver Platinum but about bronze too and copper and how beautiful it can look people when they see brawn they say well that's not good yet cuz they told you to send bad and I'm so glad you made the videos and teaching people about bronze and if you could please have more people on that do bronze jewelry cuz it's a loss of young people that wants to get in metal and bronze is a beautiful metal and they need to know more about it thank you again for the video.

Thanks for the great video. I cast a statue at home, but it had imperfections. I wonder if you know what would cause lacey/swiss cheese like holes near where a sprue attached to the sculpture?

Thank you for your video, very educating. I have a couple questions, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I have a beautiful bronze statue, that's got done mystery to it. I've tried to find the same statue everywhere but have come up empty. Next to the signature there's a name of the statue, but I can't make it out. It's also got ¹/50 engraved on it. My guess is there is 50 more of these or was at one time. The statue is 34" tall and the base is 19"x20". So it's not a small bronze by any means. The artist name is Gutierrez. Here's a couple of photos. Any help is appreciated. I It won't add my photos. I guess I'm house trying to figure out how to learn more about this actual piece. Thank you

Something is only worth what someone is willing or able to pay. I have a Moreau sculpture, lots appreciate looking at it but very few would invest in it. A local museum requested I donate it to them. The more original the better, it tells a story.

It would be nice if more were Inspired to create instead of obtain opposed to buying replicas but just my perspective, in that I wouldn't be proud to sport something lab created or a fake Gucci for example. The magic and quality that gives something value would no longer exist to suffice

thanks for posting this video... it is a good topic, advertisement or not, to increase the standards of artisans and that of the consumer... that said... does 95% copper, 4% silicon, and 1% manganese actually qualify to be called a bronze?... a copper based alloy yes... better than bronze or better than some bronzes in some ways for your purpose...maybe... you are portraying yourself as a professional expert raising the standards and providing a community service in that act of raising the standards of your customer while marketing your brand.. although your alloy may work quite fine for producing sculptures and in other applications... because your presentation is injurious to others who actually produce what may be, by definition, called a bronze, having a substantial measure of tin... .or a brass having a substantial measure of zinc in stead of tin... and that specific treatment applied at substantial cost and investment of energy (work), ........energy that you have alleviated yourself of... at minimum you could be kind enough, to yourself, to state cleanly that you had found an alloy that you preferred... was more economical... and potentially more durable .. and in that statement only slightly minimizing the difference between your preferred alloy and bronze, thereby appearing as humble... in fact providing an example of some measure of honesty and humility at the same time in that same effort. maybe a solid copper statue would be worth more money to some... for scrapping ...who knows... a solid gold one would be... i like nickle silver myself the premise of this video is a nice thought though... I'd offer you best wishes... but as a tradesman I'm afraid you'ld honor yourself for badmouthing me for doing something properly, instead of poor technique.

I have what I believe to be a very old chinese male foo dog because of crudeness of underbelly which I assume that bronzes were not perfection throughout the sculpture if a bronze were produced hundreds of years ago .The piece has a very heavy black patina ( not paint), but carbon buildup.

So these are basically repro of original bronzes. A quality bronze is a 100% original bronze, cast in the period and commissioned by the original designer - don't see much evidence of this in the video

Classical bronze is copper 80- 95% and tin 20 to 5 percent period. No silicon or any other metal . All else are bronze variants and not bronze in the classical sense .

It's called silicon bronze, some might say boys bronze... nice and easy to work with but not particularly traditional, so maybe when looking for quality bronze sculpture you hould be taking your portable xrf to get a tin content :)
