Congrats ♥️ I’m fixing to get my very first puppy ever had next month here in about two more weeks Is a female shih tzu I think she’s gorgeous Small may only get to be around 5 lbs fullgrown I love smaller dogs for me so I’m super excited 😆 think she’s gonna be just perfect 😍

My 4 month old crazy has everything mentioned here. He's quick, smart and sometimes stubborn. I let him get away with a lot of crap because in about 2 to 3 months he's going to the Vet for a procedure. That should calm him down a little. I'm not going rush it because I really like the puppy stage he's in. He's brown and white and just plan Beautiful.

Thank you for the info. I have a rescue and he checks all the boxes, which I thought he would. It really doesn't matter though as he has been very special. Loves everyone but can be very stubborn. Great little dog.

My dog has pink brown nose, and paw and a pink eye line. Characteristic of a pure breed liver shih tzu. As a puppy mine had a chocolate dark brown color solid color which will lighten to ash brown once they reach adulthood. His name is Pocholo and he is a bundle of Joy.

My boy is also a Liver Shih Tzu with the gorgeous lighter nose, lips, paw pads, eyes, so I was surprised to see the Livers not getting a look in. They’re pure bred Shih Tzu’s too. And some of the most beautiful at that! 🐾💗🐾

He sounds beautiful 😻 I’m getting my first puppy ever in two more weeks now this April I wanted a smalller dog and I love lord of beautiful fur as I also have I breed long haired elite higher end Persian cats So I also want one who will be a good match with my smaller specialized breed of Persian cats to and be able to get along good together ♥️ my first puppy ever smaller sized pup supposed to estimate about 5 lbs when full grown And same size as most of my smaller Persian cats I’m so excited listening to youlls stories on here I believe she is going to be the perfect breed and pup she is black sable dawn color and pretty eyes and perfect shorter nose not too long And a doll face look so I think she gonna be just perfect 😍

My dog is mixed but has all these features. She is half Lhasa and Shih Tzus are Bree from them so that may be why. 🥰

My little Shih tzu girl is a liver with a cute brown nose and big gold eyes. My sweet boy is a tri color with a black nose and big black eyes. Both are as stubborn as they come and have lots of energy. She is a cuddler and wants to lay as close as possible to me, but then will look the other way when I call her. He is not big on cuddling and will squiggle away if you love on him too long, but I can’t leave a room without him right behind me. Both are from the same breeder and are siblings from different litters.

So adorable

The main dog that I see that shares the most physical and personality traits is the Havanese. I had one for 13 years and he was wonderful except got him older and he had separation anxiety. He never ran off though, my little clown dog just wanted to be with me. Affectionate, playful, smart, loved everybody, but great watchdog. ❤🐕🐾🙄

Some shih tzus have gold or brown eyes and brown noses and lips. This is the liver shih tzu. It is a pure bred shih tzu and recognized as such.

Definitely worth it, They are sweet, loyal dogs with an affectionate nature, I would strongly encourage you to take your pup for training as they can be stubborn, but that can be overcome with the right training

Who cares if they are or aren’t? Mine are supposedly Shorkies but I’m so glad to have gotten them, that I couldn’t care less whether they’re pure bred or martians. One has a terrible problem with his knees, but there’s no way he’s leaving me or the other two.

The tail is not always a sign of a pure bred Shih Tzu. I have one that is absolutely pure bred and has AKC papers, the family tree and all - he just happens to be the runt from his litter that had a straight tail.

it does not mater, in my life time I had 11 shih tzus all different size personalities etc. my Gizmo was 30 lb , lived 16 years , lazy , Jessica was 16 lb also lived 16 years running around do zoomis real cute they all had different toys, of course I never left them alone I always had 2 or 3 at the time , INDOOR vivi pad I never even yelled at them , and NO training Was happy if they find the vivi pad , so do not worry about criteria , just like people one is big the other is small, but they people, what is pure breed , ? people are not pure breed , black , white, brown , whatever they all people, so , good lock God bless, get him an other shih tzu for compony , they are pack animals

We have one of those too! Got him from the local shelter. He's very nervous, probably from previous abuse, but he's cute, super sweet and loyal. Wouldn't trade him for anything.

Not bashing those who prefer pure breeds, but for me I don't care if my boy is not. Hell, I would take care Cerberus if he would let me. 😅

If your dog has papers and registered with the Kennel club like AKC American Kennel club chances are it’s purebred other than that it’s not simple as that I’ll include a link on

For me it doesnt matter if its pure or mix breed

I need to know more about eye staining..havevtriedxall the creams, wash pads, etc.but it's gotten worse. is it food? I am now going to use colloidal silver drops daily to kill this infection. any comments? I do give a dog brand cbd oil in mouth to curb this allergy as well. I am a groomer to all my dogs due to fleas in unclean cages at parlors...and long cage times. I learned how to groom from utube. Glad I did, saves me a fortune and can do as often as needed. This breed LOVES to be groomed!!!

Yes I breed long haired elite higher end specialized small Persian beeed of cats I recommend lysine daily chew supplements and eye envy for dogs I believe they have some use all the time on my Persian cats ♥️

I get Lhasa apso from breeder 2 years ago but now doctor told that it's not Lhasa apso it's Shih Tzu breed dog so during meeting with which breed I need to meeting my female dog ?

Don’t breed your dog if you don’t have akc papers. Especially because you don’t know what he really is he could have Lhasa Apso and shih tzu in him.

Now I breed long haired Persian smaller specialized breed of most elite rarer colors of Persian cats and I tell you from experience I keep their back ends shaved down even back of legs a little I like clean and dry booties at all times I’m fixing to get my very first puppy ever and I wanted a small puppy small like my kitties are Is a shih tzu I’m hoping same thing keep her backend either trimmed down or shaved down So hoping this same approach will also work with her well ♥️♥️

Use a natural canine shampoo which has oats in it. And I am giving Whole Earth Farms Small Breed to my shih tzu, it's really healthy for dogs.

As Susan said, it will grow back. But what you can do is massage your dog with some coconut oil once a week.

Hi there my Shitz My Bennington is unfortunately a Mum and Son accident He's a adorable but he's paralyzed on the left side of his face and his back legs are deformed he's clever and Loves everyone but is a Mumsies boy he's five and last October we thought he wasn't going to make it I'd only just lost Buddy my Chi massive heart failure Suddenly Bennington Monsterdoglettes started screaming in pain took him straight to the Vets and was given two types of pain meds after eight weeks he was back to his Barky! Cheeky self but isn't able to play fight with his bestie Dave my Daughter Lorna French bulldog they adore each other but to be on the safe side no more rough play time for the future ... Ooooh I nearly forgot he's a brilliant singer too 😂 💜🐕💜
