that was a great way to hydrate your cat. I have done IV fluids before, and used water in a syringe, but never with " cat flavoring" that really works well. have a great one.

Or you can take some lean pork and make a port stock no additives no salt nothing added but water, and serve to them diluted warm so they smell the meat... they love it too

Yeah it really replenished her hydration levels , I know sometimes it's hard to get them to drink when they aren't feeling well this this did the job!

Just found your channel. I have 7 inside cats (down from 10) and 4 outside cats My holistic vet said that I should get my cats used to eating cat soup - adding as much water to their wet food as they’ll allow. She said recent research has showed that most cats are borderline with kidney disease as a result of them not consuming enough water. I also give them Aminavast and asparagus which is very cooked then liquified in a blender for urinary health.

I had never heard of hydralyte before. Thanks for the information!

I just found out that Hydrlyte contains SUGAR. I would never give my cat anything with sugar!

Im glad I found this video!! I have two kittens, one is 7 months (Sora) and the other is almost a year (Riku). Riku was found outside a few months ago and we brought him in. I noticed my 7 month cat drinking about 2-3 times a day but never see Riku drinking. I've seen it a few times and we do have a fountain and I sit with him in front of the water but he isn't interested. I did the skin test and his skin bounces back normal. Could he be drinking at night etc?? They eat wet food so he is getting moisture at least but Im still worried. He isn't showing any signs of being sick but would you recommend doing this any way as a precaution? Edit: We have a water fountain and 3 different water bowls in various places in our apt (1 bedroom.) so we have many places away from the food etc, I see sora drinking from all of the bowls throughout the day and it gets replaced every day :(

Well they can be hunting mice outside and getting hydration from eating them raw as well. If they are hydrated it's all good either way. W water fountains please watch this, as most of us don't clean it the right way and it's really fully of mildew - which ends up turning the water gross: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fJWAmrOwYMqulcY.html I find that instead put out lots of different types of water dishes works for them, the more you put out in different places the more likely they will drink from it. Better if you use glass or porcelain to keep it clean, or stainless steel if there's no chance of getting crazy glare from the sun~ Hope that helps!

Did you ever figure this out? I have about a month-2 month old kitten. She refuses to drink. She eats her wet food- but I tried bigger bowls and still nothing. My bestfriend adopted her sister n she drinks all the time- but I fear it’s bc the cat my bestfriend has showed her. Not sure wat to do. Please help! I’ve had her 5 days now. Her skin bounces back .

Omg that happens very easily it can be dangerous when done at high speed and or large volumes it goes to the wrong places, please take them to a vet just in case as it can cause many problems other than choking - I hope it's not aspiration pneumonia... pls check w vet and keep me posted

sometimes i even add coconut milk to my cats food. he drinks a lot of water and i add water to his food especially now in the summer. any liquid without salt works like tuna juice 🙈🙈

Hi! My cat is an adult, he had an infection in his teeth/gums? We got him fixed now! So the vet said to give him wet food daily, and dry food as snacks only, but he refuses to drink water! And im scared the wet foods and tuna is gonna cause dehydration, should i give him normal water with tuna juice to drink?

The cheapest wet food is already better than the best kibble, actually wet food is good!!! You can dilute the meat juices of the wet food too, and tuna I won't feed too often as there's mercury. Maybe mix up the food types and sources for safety? You can also use port or beef and boil a salt less stock they love it , dilute it can do too!
