Man the realest channel out! I just bought by first bow. I’m learning everything I can. This spring will be my first attempt at Turkey hunting.

I'm more likely to be too slow and cautious and over the years I've evolved into playing the long game. Patience and setup are my strength as I get older. I love new spots and think theres nothing sweeter then getting turkeys figured out on new ground. Great video Matt.

Great information. I wish when i started to have this available to me. Very few hunter turkey then. I hunted 4 season before I harvested a bird. I was a slow learner. Patients and more patients. Move slow, listen and wait. Thanks so much for putting this out there. Watching programs of shooting is so what exciting but not much, why or when. I may have shaved a few years off them unsuccessful hunts. Enjoy the beautiful and sounds.

Great video Matt! Love how informative and detailed you are. I definitely am guilty of running to the first Turkey I hear. I definitely need to slow down more this coming spring season.

Great information here. You are correct to sometimes just wait till daylight so you can see how to navigate through obstacles like thorn patches and swamps or creeks. Good job on this instruction.

Hearing a turkey gobble or even a hen yelp on youtube makes my heart jump. Mid April is youth hunt here in Wisconsin, I can't wait to take the knowledge of Matt Dale and put it to work for my kids!

I loved hunting Wisconsin. The Potosi area used to be full of birds. Haven’t been that way in a few years though. Good luck to ya.

I haven't turkey hunted in years. I deer hunt all season through bow and rifle. I'm getting back into turkey hunting this spring. I've been practicing with my calls and have all my gear ready. Season starts here in Arkansas in about a month. Should I be in the woods scouting now? I don't know when they'll start gobbling. Thank you so much Dale for all the priceless information you put out. Good luck this spring.

I hunt with a crossbow, so I have to call them in to at least 30 yards.

If you hunt only weekends in a different state and you aren't allowed to hunt on Sundays on public Land then you have to make it happen on the only day that you have!! 👍

Thank you for the information Matt. I always enjoy these videos, and I'm definitely going to use some of these practices this season. How do you feel about scouting a month before season?

I'd like to hear that also. My season starts April 18'th and I'm ready to get out there now and scout and try to find some turkeys.

Scouting anytime is good. If you don’t know the land, the more you’re on it the better off you’ll be. Scout the land early, and scout the birds closer to season. Getting to know both will help you be successful.

Yeah, how many times have you set out on the first gobbles to only have one gobble very close to where you started from 10-15 minutes later? I always wait a few minutes after the first gobble, but on public land you’re sometimes better off to wait for the second or third bird because everyone else is going to be running for the first one. Depending on the property. 😂😂

Get as close as you can and fire off three blasts from your shotgun in the direction of the gobbles. Let the woods settle down for about 30 minutes, then go back home.
