How to Host an Articulate Storyline Course on the Web Using Google Cloud

#eLearning #InstructionalDesign #ArticulateStoryline
When you're developing an eLearning course in Articulate Storyline, you may want to publish it on the web so that you can share it with others or post it on your instructional design portfolio or eLearning portfolio. However, to do that, you need a place to host it. This is where Google Cloud can help!
Uploading your Articulate Storyline project to Google Cloud lets you easily share a link to your published course that anyone can see. So, in this video, I'll show you how to publish your Articulate Storyline course for the web, how to create a Google Cloud account, and how to upload and share your published project from Google Cloud.

Cheez and Crackers this was needed. This guy deserves a lifetime humanitarian achievement award. I was ready to give up on this because until this video I could find no simple person's guide to using Google Cloud. So, thanks to KZread, in one week I have learned to solve Rubik's Cube and how to post my Storyline tests for clients. Not a bad week.

I totally understand! I'm usually very nervous about entering credit cards...but Google is very secure. With that said, if you have an Articulate 360 license, another option (which is actually simpler) is to host your projects on Rise 360. Here's a video on how to do that: kzread.info/dash/bejne/haqYo5duXZnQhbQ.html

I am in awe of your God-like abilities with this technology. I can't imagine how you figured out how to do this but thank you for creating this easy-peasy how-to guide. Until recently (just last Monday), I was a teacher. This would have been my 33rd year on the job. On Monday a high school student threw a sneaker at my head. He missed. Another student threw a water bottle. She missed and shattered the clock on the classroom wall. Both students thought this was amusing. I filled out a discipline referral and alleged attempted assault. My building admin told me that this wasn't assault and suggested that I either step up my class management or quit. I chose to quit. I don't have a large pension and have been trying to figure out what to do with myself. Since I have a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, know how to Adobe illustrator, Cyberlink PowerDirector, and Articulate 360, I thought about becoming an instructional designer but needed help with figuring out how to host an Articulate lesson. This video was exactly what I needed. So thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thanks so much for this - so helpful! I had two questions: 1) Is there a way to integrate Google Analytics to be able track visitors to a course? and 2) Is there a unique URL for each lesson when navigating through should you wish to provide a tailored link to someone? (Someone at Articulate said the URL should be different for each lesson once it's published to the web so I wondered if that's so in this environment.) Thanks again!

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I'm sure there is a way, but I have yet to try and connect Google Analytics. And regarding your second question, I suppose it depends on what you my by "lesson." Are you referring to separate Storyline courses OR slides within a single Storyline course?

Any way to always restart the Storyline file from the beginning? 🤗

Assuming you published your course out of Storyline for the web before your trial expired, you should have no issues uploading the files. If they are zipped, you simply need to right-click and extract the files first. This will unzip them.

What if we wanted to limit access to only those people who purchase an elearning course? For example, I put the course on my Squarespace website as a product. Someone buys it. Now is there an option in the cloud to only allow people with a certain email address, or password protected, etc.?

@@elearningacdmy what if you add it to a private google site? maybe link the course to a button within the site so it looks like you can only navigate to the course through the private site? I understand users can capture the link and save it but if they don't and their access to the google site expires then in that case they wouldn't have access to the course anymore which would be ideal for this scenario of only wanting to provide course access to specific users who have access to a restricted/private google site.
