Such a good lesson Dylan, content like this is gold! I've been trying to teach my wife, who has been playing for around the same amount of time as Mish, and this lesson is perfect for her, and a great refresher for me. Hats off to Mish too, she's sharp and a quick learner!

I’m switching from a 1h to a 2h backhand after 7 years. Been watching a lot of videos to learn the backhand but this one has been so helpful! Great drills and tons of applying the fundamentals. Really helps me understand it more. Can’t wait to go out to the court and try these!

Dylan, great video instruction. Love how you give a lesson, ask input from the student, and then offer advice to overcome the difficulty. I am 62 and have struggled for years on my two hander. Used to get obsessed with what my elbow position was doing on my non dominant hand, and arm. I like how you focus on the foot work, getting weight behind ball, diagraming an L shape to help placement of feet and extending arms out and through. Think if you set up early and have write spacing, arm and elbow will naturally take care of self, as long as you keep shoulder loose. Great videos again. You’re the best.

Thank you for the kind words James! I can make some more detailed videos of the double handed backhand. Footwork and aligning the bodyweight is definitely a key part before striking. I will dive into the contact point and how to achieve this in future videos. Stay tuned for the upcoming TWD videos 😊

Sounds good Dylan. Look forward to seeing them. Wish I had saw your videos 40 plus years ago, but nice thing about tennis is you can always improve in some way, as long as you put into practice what you learn. Also like the video you had on mobility and flexibility, that has been a big help before stepping on the court. Thanks again.

I am over 60 . 3.75 level. Always have had a one hand backhand ,but it’s 90%slice. I am thinking about trying a two handed one . Great lesson!

Thank you! Yes you should definitely give it a go, the double handed backhand provides more stability on the higher and wider balls. Pros and cons to both types of backhands. Glad you found this video useful

I like hard courts too. Not many recreational grass courts and no carpet courts here in Florida USA. Tennis is great. More exercise than pickleball, which is very fun, too. Racquet sports are great socially, mentally, and physically.
