Thanks for sharing all the great stuff, Chandler! My question: How should we decide commissions? Do they get a % on every sale they do? Is there a way to determine the ideal %? Do they get commission right from the first sale every month? Or should we start paying a commission on every sale after they achieve the basic sales target set for them (because we are anyway paying the base salary for that)? Your thoughts on these would be super helpful as I'm in the process of recruiting my first sales rep.

I am at the moment thinking about either inviting a partner for sales or hire someone. Your video was very helpful to seek a salesperson for hire. But what i missed in your story is to hire them on commission or on salary. Salary seems dangerous in case they are no good. And how about a virtual sales team? Where do you find sales people for that? Just linkedin or are there special places for that?

I have just started a company and planning recruit sales team. Till now, I was thinking to pay on commission but after watching your video, I am planning to pay on a mixed type. I have a flyer distribution company. I want them to convince the customer to give us a distribution contract. For that i need a sales team. In this type of business, the figures are not quite huge so wanted to know their wage stuff. I have a question: if not just on commission, how to i pay them? Are they paid hourly? Or is any there any other type? Thanks.

It makes sense to pay sales people well, but when someone says - if yout can't sell, you can't run the business, it feel very biased statement. What about if you don't have the product, you can't sell anything. Why sales is so over-hyped? Its certainly an important and very crucial part of the system. But its not only thing. Why being biased for one party?

@@ChandlerBoltOfficial There are only four things I can derive from what you mentioned. 1- Either, you planning to sell things which does not exists. It's normally called fraud. 2- Or, now suddenly your converted the sales people into entrepreneurs and relating sales with validation. This is not main line sales. These set of people are the CEOs, about whom you told, they might be less paid than the sales guys (as if only they are running the business). You are doing it just to win the argument. You know this logic is just deviation from the topic. 3- You seem to promote sales arrogance, as few other people promote tech arrogance. Both extremes are ridiculous. 4- Even if, I take the logic of fraud and deviation, imagine this - sales people sold something, and as I said, "what would you do if you don't have product team", which remains i.e. you still don't have product team, how on the earth your sales team will deliver what they promised already out of arrogance?! Will they sit and make it?! Or will they suddenly decide - Oh, as without product there is no business, let's consider the product people as God and pay them more than everyone? Here is my point, everyone plays their part in the system. Whoever says that sales is bigger and product is smaller, or vice versa, they may be good in their arts, but they have not matured enough to see the big picture. You know you can't drive a car without engine, or without steering mechanism. Lastly, I truly appreciate you making time to respond.

If the manager did cant the hire good sales people the company wont make money! so sales is more important than the GM running the business? is sales more important than the product or service? i think they all important just as your heart and brain.
