How to hike rainbow mountain in peru 🇵🇪 | atv ride, what you need to know, cusco travel vlog + tips

The last hike on my solo trip to Peru was to Rainbow Mountain! I have seen photos on Instagram about Rainbow Mountain for years and have always wanted to visit. But I will say that altitude is probably the biggest obstacle I had to overcome. I did not have much altitude sickness prior to Rainbow Mountain, not even hiking Machu Picchu. However, I learned very quickly that going 17,000 feet in the air is not for the week. So let's go on a colorful adventure through the Peruvian hills to Rainbow Mountain.

Thanks for the tips What time did you get back to Cusco?
Oh good I get to see the trip. So the ATVs stop at the bottom like the shuttle buses? We can't ride up the mountain or even half way up?

It depends on which tour you take. The shuttle picked me up from my hostel and then we drove to the ATV spot. And no, you can’t
Great vlog. I'll be embarking on my Peru (Lima+Cusco) trip in mid July. Yet to decide whether I want to (rather will be able to) do Rainbow Mountain. I'll be visiting with my teenage daughter who's yet to get her driving license. How do we take the ATV ride? Do we need to ride it ourselves and is just one person allowed per ATV or can we both ride together?

Planning a solo trip myself. How long do you think I’d need to do Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain? More than a week?
