This video is exactly what my 13 year old daughter needs. She is SO ANGRY. But I can also tell she is sad, resentful, anxious… Do you do online therapy! I’d pay anything for you to help her! We love her so much but she won’t let us…

I don’t know what this means to you but I’ll pray for her. Maybe connecting her with other teens that struggle with anger around her. I’m saying this as a teen who was stuck in sadness and anger and resentment, and who got past it with the help of Jesus🩵hope this helped

Ive been greatly influenced by reading Carl Rogers recently. I managed to set a good climate in some relationships and help people that way. But i found in very futile indeed to repress being disinterested or iritated when dealing with some people, but still talked with them because I wanted to help, which just lead to burnout or compassion fatique. How can one be authentic and transparent in the relationship without simply hurting the other, when negative feelings occur? ( just for context, by relationships i dont mean friends, but helping random people on discord servers, because i would like to be a therapist in the future :) )

What happens when they have the tools but choose to be defiant because it’s a power struggle? They see that it feels better to be out of control then to choose to have self control. Continuing to seek control over other people and their environment instead of themself? Single mom with a teen boy and I’m struggling. (I have a therapy consult this week for him)

Ok, so I’m not a therapist, but I struggle with anger issues myself. As a teen it was really bad; I was constantly arguing, getting into fights, being rebellious and defiant, etc. I have NO idea what your sons going through, but I know that my anger issues were rooted in trauma and depression. I had an abusive father and I blamed myself. I was also very depressed and suicidal, and anger is easier to feel than pain and depression. One of the reasons your son doesn’t want to manage his anger might be there’s some other feeling that the anger is covering up. Once again, I’m not a therapist or anything like that, I’m just a woman speaking from experience.

Also, another thing is that it gave me power and control when I felt powerless. I hope that helped!

I have a question. How do you help a teen who does excuse themselves for a time out when angered and are being made fun of or mocked while being accused of running away from problems by family?

In this case it seems like the teen is the mature one with that family. How about talking to the family to see why they are behaving that way or just ignore it and do what's needed to calm down. We can't control their behavior but it's not helping the situation at all.

I don't like therapaists very much. I don't like how they just think about how we're thinking and its for some reason infuriating.
