I've decided to not try to "win the algorithm", and only make videos about what I'm genuinely interested in. Thank you very much for watching this video about Pecans. If you'd like to support a guy in Alabama making videos about (among other things) Pecans, please consider supporting here: www.patreon.com/smartereveryday. I send literally every Patreon supporter a really cool baseball with a Smarter Every Day logo on it.

I spent many days picking up pecans on haves with my grandfather when I was a kid. We would pickup literally 100's of buckets every year and half what we picked up with the landowner. We would then take them to be cracked. We would spend days sorting and bagging every one before thanksgiving in 2lbs bags. My grandfather would give away most of them to people to cook pies and sell what he could and would buy us kids Christmas presents. My fondest memories were picking pecans, grapes and berry's from the side of the road. It was such a wonderful time in my life. Thanks for sparking these memories with this video.

I love watching shows like "How It's Made" to get glimpses at all of the wonderful ingenuity that goes into everyday things that we never know about. But with "Smarter Every Day," we not only get the 'how' but the 'why' -- I was fascinated at even just the discussion about springs versus constant air pressure to shell the nuts. And the footage of the trees here is unbelievably beautiful. Well done, as always!

@@KingsOutdoorLife notice how the video looks like garbage when there's slow motion leaves falling? Having that much stuff on the screen causes the bitrate to go up. youtube limits it's bitrate pretty low, so if you come across a video that has a ton of stuff going on, it'll look like that. That's why you get a better video watching at a higher resolution even if your display doesn't support it, because the higher the video resolution, the higher the bitrate cap..... more or less. That's my understanding of it, and I'm sure there might be wrong terms, but I think it gets the gist across.

I think the space was a bit too cramped for the phantom, and the dust and debris from the open cover (especially at such close range/with no space to put up a shield) are what prevented that, sadly

My 5yo loves this video. I just asked him how many times he's watched it and all he knew was "a lot!". It's easily in the double digits. We were talking about the JWST at dinner tonight and I mentioned your dad worked on it, one thing led to another and we're watching it again :). Thanks for all you do!
