Thanks... you are so awesome! 💙💛💜 This video answered my question about how long to wait for harvest time. I had no idea the pod would turn to that pretty Fuschia-like color similar to prickly pears. I was successful pollinating 2 blooms between Christmas 2017 and the 1st week of January. I have a long time to wait but probably many years to actually see any cacti from this process, huh? How long does it take the seeds to grow into a cactus after you plant them? Can they be planted any season?

So happy you saw this vid as it goes more info on how to harvest the fruits, it can take about 6 months for the young seedlings to resemble cacti and it can take a few days to 2 months for the seeds to germinate, you can sow seeds any season but its always best to wait until Spring to sow them as the days are longer and warmer but you can grow seeds any time of year if you have grow lights, here is a video I made on How to grow cacti from seed and this works really well with Christmas and Easter cacti too :-D kzread.info/dash/bejne/eX5kp5tqo87AiKw.html thanks so much for watching and have a fantastic weekend XXXX

Desert Plants of Avalon. Hi. Omg... I'm so excited! 😀 Of the 2 blooms I pollinated they BOTH started growing fruit and 1 is now very fuchsia-like in color already and the other is dark. Not sure if the dark one will finish turning but I will leave it alone for now. I have not tried to pull the ripe fruit off yet. I'm afraid it might be too soon but I may give it a slight pull next week and see if it will just fall off. I appreciate so much your sharing your video and I'm so happy mine are working out. It only took around 7 months, so not quite as long as it could have been. Btw, do you think it's best to let them fall off naturally or pick them when ripe? Thank you again for sharing your knowledge. Have a blessed day! 😇 ❤💙💚💛

Wondering if there is an up-date on these seeds. I have two developing seed pods on a Schlumbergera Truncata. In the past I haven't really had much interest in leaving them to develop but this time have as I did the pollination crossing a pure white with a white with red fringing. I have grown epiphylum from purchased seed before but not schlumbergera

stev123and. Hi. I'm new to cross pollinating plants myself but I saw your comment about sowing epiphyllum seeds. I actually had to google "epiphyllum" to see what it is. There's a beautiful variety. I'd imagine it takes an eternity to see blossoms from sowing seeds. How long did it take the seeds to grow and did you ever get a flowering plant from it?

Hi Marius :-) a lot of the hybrids are not self pollinating and I have only ever had any success with cross pollinating the flowers with a different Christmas or Thanksgiving plant that I have flowering at the same time and cross over the pollen, but many of the new hybrids are sterile even when crossed, thanks so much for watching and have a fantastic Friday XXXX
