This might not help everyone but this is what works for me EVERYTIME. It might not work for you but it's worth a try and it's free. I had the same problem with my 2018 Tahoe. Sometimes the touch screen worked fine then sometimes it would act like you described and worse. This is what I did to "solve" or at least stop it from happening. I have a touch button ignition. What I do is when I first enter the vehicle I wait for the logo that shows on the touch screen to disappear then push the ignition button to "On" without touching the brake pedal. This allows the vehicle to turn on without starting the vehicle. Then I once again wait for the logo that shows on the touch screen to disappear and then I simply start my vehicle. My touch screen acts "normal" again. It's worked for me every time and it has allowed me to cancel my new $850 (plus $300 to install it) touch screen that I ordered from the dealership. It might not be everyone's solution. I hope this helps anyone and everyone who has had issues with these touch screens that I believe should have been recalled.

I was skeptical but it worked!!! My situation was I rented a Chevy Malibu 2021 and the infotainment would not allow adding my phone- kept pressing the Add device button but nothing would happen. I tried resetting the setting in the menus but it did t work. I tried finding a way to “reboot” the system and this video was the only thing I found! In my case I didn’t have to wait the 15 min. I waited maybe 4 min and it worked for me. I was able to add my phone since then!

Would need to go to your trusted GM dealer.

Does thia reset clock on 2015 encore and clock will begin to show correct time after being shut off for the night

Does this help with getting the infotainment system to respond to your taps?

Close door from inside? So, after waiting at least 15 minutes, get back in the vehicle, close the door, and finish the process?

I followed the instructions twice and it didn't work either time. I even tried going into the radio settings and doing a factory reset and that didn't work either.

When I do step 2 is the door opened or closed? What is the last word in step 3?

Thank you for your question. Does not matter if you have a Keyless Start or key. Works on both. Same procedure.

Is there any way that I can trouble shoot this with a multimeter or something? After replacing the digitizer the problem went away for a few weeks which is just long enough to void the refund in case I buy both and only needed to replace one. any tips are extremely appreciated!@@MICHIG00N

@@fcarbone1546no this video is significantly misleading. This is just a clickbait video. The issue was diagnosed as a malfunctioning HMI (human machine interface)… I’m in the process of ordering a refurbished HMI from a salvage yard and having it programmed to my VIN, which is much much cheaper than a new HMI and will likely last the remainder of the time I own the vehicle.
