I really enjoy your videos! I have gathered a ton of advice and tips from you to use in my own projects. Keep up the good work!
Your a gifted carpenter. I’m not really talking about this particular video but to all of your videos. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you so much
Excellent install Jon! those hinges really look great...just wish I had seen this video before I took on my basement door two weeks ago!
An oldie but a goodie! Going thru my local Craigs List I came across these hinges for sale at $13.00 brand new in the box. I have seen these hinges for jewelry boxes but never this large. They look very heavy duty and expensive. Thank you for a very good explanation.
Jon thanks so much for this video, I have 28 doors to install and it will be my first time installing hinges.
Nice hinges. Seem simple to install using their jig setup.
Free handing a prototype and working, you are truly at God's level when it comes to fabricating! Respect bro!
Great looking hinge and easy to understand video.
Nice. Fits like a glove.
excelent work Jon!!
Your videos are very simpel to understand for begunner like me.. Keep good work mate..
Great job clean and professional.
Jon nice job and very informative.
Enjoyed your video. I may use these hinges on a few doors made to look like wainscoting in a bedroom.
I DID, I REALY STALLED A SWING GATE DOOR USING THAT HINGES AND WORKED PERFECTLY

Thanks folk for the video👍
nice work thanks for informational video
This is a great tutorial... thank you!
great job
This is very helpful to build my ideas
Nice vid! I've used these before and they are sweet....but they're expensive! Had a 4-0/7-0 door that was to be hidden with a mural covering the wall and door and I couldn't have hinges sticking out on the mural side. This was the best product for that install when used with 3 hinges and 1 closer hinge.
I love it ! Thank you
great video Jon. always enjoy your videos when you share your experience with us. may I ask if any major retailer carry's these hinge and a price?
Good tutorial. I'd add set the plunge router before assembling the jig for both depths and use a ton of glue and screws on the buck stud or the drywall may crack. You all can second guess the order he works in but this is the most efficient. Nail holes will re-secure the jig exactly. JP avoided the uneven hinge placement topic Soss recommends which would have filled the comments with panic and arguments like happens on about every job I install these on. Notice the middle hinge is not centered at 1.5 minutes. Now you all can second guess that too. Final word, he did this exactly right. Go try some yourself, then comment.

Having both a separate Plunge base and Fixed base Router set up you don’t have to keep moving the Template from door to jamb then back to the door...Anyone who is challenged enough to use these hinges had better be prepared tools wise... I seed these hinges on two 3-0 x 7-0 solid core doors as Racket ball court entry doors to the court keeping a smooth face for balls not to engage with... I done this countless times... Good Video Jon...
Yes I have a question, why are your project always built to perfection.Awsome job, keep it up.

Good job
Thanks for the video, you sir are AWESOME!!! Quick question, Im assuming that door jamb and door were built to be flush with the drywall? If so do you have a video of how to build those type of door jambs? And if not can you make one or send me some tips on how to do this? I plan on a big reno in my townhouse and have always loved the "no trim, flush door jamb" modern aesthetic!!! Thanks bro!!
I JUST SAW YOUR VIDEO I DID HIRE A GUY TO DO THIS WORK LONG AGO NOW I DO HAVE A NEW JOB AND I WILL NEED AN EXPERT. AT LEAST I KNOW WHAT HE HAS TO DO. GREAT VIDEO.
Very good work technic
Nice tools and great work TQ
good job
Very good sir
How to hang a door wothout visible hinges Sir Very nice idea and demonstration only a skilled technician can demonstrate. I saw this invisible hinges for the first time. The gadjets u used there in itself is worth watching and education to all invoved in wood working skills. Vatsa BANGALORE INDIAí
thanks very good
Hmmm, Wouldn't it make more sense to route the mortises on the buck stud before it is attached to the framing? Then you could just do it on a bench at a much more comfortable working height.

Wirh those deep mortises it seems like hanging the door was easier than wirh conventional hinges.

Very nice fting
Nice work.
Nice job. Seems to me that the Soss hinge would be premium and well served.
That’s good thank you
Awesome, you make it so simple, so with the buck stud is that what you would attach the trim molding to on the interior and then what would the exterior look like?
THOSE HINGES ARE AMAZIN, did not know those existed
@billadmond9450
5 жыл бұрын
They are very expensive though also these hinges are very sensitive to the weight of the door so if the door is heavy, when you close it might bend down.
nice job......! thx
Beautiful Job Jon!! What model hinges did you use?
Masa Allah very nice bro
Never thought I'd say this about a hinge but that is one sexy hinge. It also must be a beast as far as strength.
I love work
As always, great instruction, Jon. I presume these would only be used on solid core doors?
Great video. I've been doing doors strictly since 1997. These hinges are great for interior use. Exterior use would seem difficult to weatherstrip with compression copper weatherstrip. I guess you could use pop in Q-Lon, cheap weatherstrip but that would be like building the BMW but opted for hub caps instead of real rims. I have used this Hong on jewelry boxes also. Smaller of course.

Hi Roger, what would you suggest for outdoor use? I need to rehang a bungalow door to open to the outside because the floor has shifted & the threshold now has an uneven gap. As a result the door doesn't fully open to the inside anymore. Having a hard time finding hinges that aren't a security concern.
Hi John i am from Pakistan i also carpenter i like your work and working aedia 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Best jig i have every seen
Thanks, Jon I enjoyed the video on use of Soss hinges for a door. My project is a wet bar hardwood countertop that needs a fold-down (or maybe fold-up) section across an opening. Soss hinges seem applicable for that case. Any suggestions?
Thank you for y our video! First, why wouldn't you cut both the shallow and the deep mortises on the door before you removed the jig? Second, Have you done an install with there Automatic Close option? Thanks again!
good!

this is a good video, I have question for you, you door is 32 inches W. what is the opening on the door jamb for this hinges?
What type of door are you using? Do you recommend a manufacturer? Also for your jam do you have a preferred Material\manufacturer? When you prepared the framing for the door did you give yourself a tolerance for the door? Or did you measure the opening the exact measurement of the door
