Some statements can be applied to LinkedIn if you’re a true professional business person. The influencers who have 15,000 or more followers. It’s taken years but oftentimes it’s posting new unseen article related to your niche. They are no way the same. However I will be learning this platform. I’m anti TikTok given my true understanding of living in The PRC for almost 4 years

Great insights man. As an early 20's dude working a full time corporate video/editing job who wants to do videography and photography full time working for myself and has a small IG following, this was encouraging to hear coming from you who isn't necessarily devoting a whole work day to managing your own content. I have dabbled with the idea of starting a youtube channel or try to increase my following on instagram, but get discouraged with the time commitment as well as lack of space to shoot. Definitely staying hungry though thanks to people like you. Can't wait for what 2023 has in store for you man!

@@redbearduk20 year+ editor/producer here. i partly second that. the general concept of trading time for money is a huge drag, especially the taxes part. even with 100k/year you don't get too far (unless you have a proper savings plan in place). that's why YT/IG are so intriguing. it simply has no cap. BUT! the commitment and time it takes to get from zero to somewhere is huge. you can't just put out content. it's gotta spark an emotion. any emotion. if it doesn't, don't even bother. same goes for added value. people are more likely to follow you if your content adds value, which intertwines with the emotions. if i feel better/happier/more entertained/surprised after watching your stuff, i might stick around for the next one. if not, i'll check the millions of other peeps trying the same. it is a crazy grind. if you want to try, definitely do it before wife/kids/obligations. stick to healthy routines and don't burn yourself out. followers are not the most important thing in your life.

Here since the Canon days and you’re clearly working hard and working smart 🙌 It’s been hard for me to embrace the less perfect shooting, but I’m finally on board. Committing to the iPhone as a top down camera has really helped me. It’s super fast and easy to use the Moment mount on a c-stand, and it’s hard to beat airdropping the files.

@Rahul Shah basically just don't copy someone else's content and call it original. Make your content original to you in some way whenever you can, may not always attract 1m views or likes but at least it's yours and not someone else's.

It’s kind of true but at the same time not.. I have a friend who started Instagram with 200 followers.. only 2 years ago, and he now has 450k followers. All he’s done is copy other peoples reels and redo them, also he interacts with everyone in a very fake tone, just overly positive about everything and way too nice. Nothing genuine about it at all.. his content is not even interesting and he uses the same video clips over and over again.. it paid off for him I guess 🤷♂️

Love this video, really helpful! I completely agree about your points made on the Reels. I started posting regularly with reels for only 2 months and saw huge growth on my instagram account. I need to get back into it and post more often again, which is why its great to hear my old strategies might still have a play today 😂

I really just think that those work more because it’s easier to get the full watch time from a viewer. Longer videos are harder to do that but if they can? Money

I also think a big question for us to ask is "why do we want to grow?" I find that if I am pushing myself just to get bigger, it burns me out faster. The more I do stuff I enjoy the more genuine it feels and the more motivated I am do keep doing it.

I believe that basic Reels are best suited for trend and fun videos. However, creators with valuable content may need to be more creative and dynamic to stand out, unless they already have a substantial following.
