A hot plant scientist? This video rocks!
This is just what I was looking for! Great resource, so succinct but helpful- can’t wait to get growin 🌱
This video is so good! I don’t know why it’s not got more views because it deserves it
Good video! I love the editing & I love the information & how actually grew the greens & showed us
Excellent and dreamy! TY!
Awesome video. Very informational. Thank you. Just getting started.
Micro greens are a blast! I love using them in omelets just before you fold them, and with a bunch in top. Yum! Having a dinner party with soup and salad - having a row micro greens on a lazy Susan at the table and a scissor as part of the silverware so people can cut their own is a great way to introduce folks to micro greens!

I love spicy radish micro greens!!! Can’t wait to grow and eat them yum
Great video! Don't know how many times I've thrown out germination experiments when I've seen that "mold" LOL Now I know better
Where would one buy those grow mats that you mentioned ? My search results have all ended with heat mats, and nothing about grow mats. What kind of material are we talking about ?
Thank you! I was so overwhelmed before I watched this video. I now feel confident that I can grow microgreens and shoots.

What a fantastic instructional with best practices. Thank you. Though I have never used jute, I will certainly give it a shot.

Great video, thanks 😄clear, concise and well presented! I noticed you put the seeds directly into the sun, while I have seen other people starting the seeds in complete darkness (ie. a tray with seeds and another tray stacked inside to simulate the weight of soil and lack of light underground) for 3 or 4 days, the idea being the sprouts start off stronger and begin to lift the tray on top of them. Then you take it off and give full sunlight and they explode. Have you experimented with that method to compare to full sunlight from the start?
wow beautifully done video and SO informative. tysm for the effort and passion that went into this video

Where can I find the video or info on when you compared the different grow matts, thank you.
Thank you for this video! Does anyone else use these for their dogs digestive issues
@GetUrbanLeaf

we don't have a pup, but would definitely recommend you do some research about suitability for pets. Their digestive systems do work quite differently to ours!
Hey thanks for the video. Why do you choose jute over hemp? And do you need to spray them with nutrient water or add nutrients to the water since using grow pads?
Amazing video

You have just pushed me to try and produce microgreens. My wife and i have 3 kids and expecting fourth, and we all love this, can you tell me can we use our own compost, that we produce, or should we buy some purified one. Thanks again for this video!
I was seeing other gardeners talk about growing micro greens as fertilizer for their larger gardens. Haven’t seen much in way of results or updates yet, but it’s a very interesting idea.

Hmmm, as in using microgreens as a cover crop? Or growing microgreens to then use as a sort of dressing for the garden?
@patticriss2238

@@GetUrbanLeaf as In using them as a fertilizer or a liquid fertilizer. They put them in a blender with water and make a slurry or a watery pour on. Whichever you want. It makes sense but I didn’t know if it had any validity.
How often do you have to change the jute mat?
Does the re growth by cutting above the first leaf set work for all different plants ?
Came here for the microgreens, stayed for the hottie in the glasses! Wow #ishesingle?
I have coconut core, is that ok??

How importang is it to weigh down the seeds after sowing? Are there microgreems that *require* this?
Curious, can you reuse the grow mats?
@Howwerelivingfishing

Also wondering
Do you not need to change water at least once a day?
Does growing in soil provide more nutrients since it’s pulling the nutrients from soil?
Can you just grow them on water trays without soil?
Can you reuse the mat to grow the micro greens on (the one you liked)?
@GetUrbanLeaf

We do see some people re-use them yes, but for hygene reasons we recommend using new ones. They're relatively affordable, 100% plant based, and compostable so tossing them causes far less damage than the alternatives

what do you do with the stems after harvest? can they be re grown?
@GetUrbanLeaf
Жыл бұрын
some can be grown a bit more, but generally after harvest you just replant and 7-10 days later you'll have more. The reason we use separate small trays is so you can have a staggered start and therefore a constant and rotating supply.
Where do you get yours seeds? You showed a large variety!

I hope robotics gets better, so they can automatically harvest microgreens, seaweed, and fungi. I wonder if you can harvest tiny sea proto-animals for protein.
Do you start with full light?
@GetUrbanLeaf
2 жыл бұрын
You don't have to, since new seeds generally appreciate a few days of not-full light while they germinate.
What brand of grow mat ??
@GetUrbanLeaf
Жыл бұрын
We offer our own grow mats - they're made from plant based jute fibre.
Can we grow them outdoor? Outside in heavy rains?
@GetUrbanLeaf
2 жыл бұрын
Likely no, since they're very fragile and would either be damaged or flooded out of the grow media.

Most videos I’ve watched say keep the seeds in the dark and put the Micro Greens in the light after they’ve started to grow…about the fourth day. I’m wondering why you don’t do that?
@GetUrbanLeaf
Жыл бұрын
Both methods work, but we've found that the cover/dome method (to trap humidity) has a broader application hence we opted for this approach with our kit. Happy growing!
Aren’t these all growable with no medium all? Obv the less materials required the better
Ueah but who to sell to?

Fair question! but this is not really our specialty I'm afraid. We (Urban Leaf) only focus on gardening for at-home growers (i.e. personal use).
Nice video, but are you psychopath ? You aint blinking 😁
Do you ever cook the microgreens? Maybe you loose the nutrition?
@GetUrbanLeaf
2 жыл бұрын
Most people do not cook them because they lose some of that signature fresh microgreens flavor. Also when reduced down by heat you'd end up with micro-microgreens, similarly to how spinach or other leafy greens lose a lot of volume when cooked.
@JWHealing

For cooked mini greens I'd suggest mung bean sprouts. They are more substantial so are nice lightly cooked, say in a noodle dish with lots of veggies, garlic etc.
Jesus, did you water that soil with your garden hose in a hurricane lol ..gentle my man, "damp" not "wet"
