Rosa Littleton I’m no expert, but I googled it & first you need a male and a female tree which you can only tell on a mature, flowering tree, secondly it’s an inferior plant to the parent, and thirdly, it can take 5+ years or even much longer to bear fruit. Do a google search... lots of info out there. I’m giving this a go today, but am only wanting a couple of small ornamental trees.

Here in the south western part of Nigeria, Date seeds thrown out in gutters and junk places grow easily without having to wash, or any special treatment. I'm actually planning on going into Dates farming, that's why I am watching this video. Thank you

Seeds have to be allowed to dry, to simulate their passage through winter before germinating in spring. Also, do not store fresh seeds unless they have first dried out. Else, they will get moldy and be worthless. This is true for all seeds.

If you want a specific date you need an offshoot of that tree, not a seed. Seedlings can grow into a variety of palms and typically don't have good fruit.

palm tree does not need this much hassle. Just through it in wet ground, and it will sprout in no time. But, from experience, here in this part of the world, it does not resemble its mother(source of seed). it will be different, most likely not as good as the original 1.
