Just goes to show no matter how many years you've been gardening. There's always something basic and surprising to learn. Thank you, Susan
Holy cow, I never paid attention to the side that should face down all these years!! Not even seed packets tell us this. Thank you!!! Also never knew I could start seeds indoors.

I had no idea I could plant them that close if they were on a trellis! And I’ve been gardening a loooong time. And belly button down! I actually planted my pole beans after watching this video and In my head I was telling the beans “there you go, belly button down nice and cozy”. I know, I talk to my plants. Thank you for a really informative video!

that helps but seeds will find their way to do what they do. Even if you plant a seed upside down, the roots will grow down and the stem will grow up. However, whenever I'm not sure, I plant it sideways!
I'm just starting this year and I'm so excited! I have my seedlings growing inside and they are already sprouting!
I love the way u explain everything. Thank u
I didn’t know you could start beans indoors. I always read you had to sow them direct. Thank you.

I just discovered you Susan and glad I did. I Love vegetable gardening, I live on a farm and ranch and have been growing veges for 50 years. Of course in the beginning I was a complete novice. But with the help of a few books I was on my way. Of course, we ate the produce and I canned and froze lots of it !!!! But my main joy is the wonders of nature, planting a seed and watching it grow into a plant that produces food that sustains us. I struggle with mobility issues but I have a new daughter in law who loves to garden and I am teaching her everything I know but there are always new thing to learn !!!!!!

You r a good teacher, Good morning from Delhi, India
I use a metal dinner fork to pop out plugs or from 72 inserts. This works much better than a smaller stick. It also allows you to pop the complete plug out every time. A fork is also slightly curved.
Thank you for these information. I would love to use the trellis this coming spring.

Very informative. New subscriber from Nashville Tennessee. 🙋🏼 We are planting our first backyard garden. First time growing all our plants from seeds as well. It’s had been exciting. I have several varieties of beans sowed, which are just starting to sprout indoors on our grow light station. The beans I have already planted have been hit hard by, I believe birds, pecking of the tops of our plants. Tonight we put some netting over them. Those bean plants you have look very healthy. Thanks for sharing.
