I had no idea I could plant them that close if they were on a trellis! And I’ve been gardening a loooong time. And belly button down! I actually planted my pole beans after watching this video and In my head I was telling the beans “there you go, belly button down nice and cozy”. I know, I talk to my plants. Thank you for a really informative video!

that helps but seeds will find their way to do what they do. Even if you plant a seed upside down, the roots will grow down and the stem will grow up. However, whenever I'm not sure, I plant it sideways!

I just discovered you Susan and glad I did. I Love vegetable gardening, I live on a farm and ranch and have been growing veges for 50 years. Of course in the beginning I was a complete novice. But with the help of a few books I was on my way. Of course, we ate the produce and I canned and froze lots of it !!!! But my main joy is the wonders of nature, planting a seed and watching it grow into a plant that produces food that sustains us. I struggle with mobility issues but I have a new daughter in law who loves to garden and I am teaching her everything I know but there are always new thing to learn !!!!!!

Agreed! I have been gardening (organically) for 10 years now and that has included oodles of gardening books, magazines, blogs, and videos. Even so I was very impressed with this video and the precise and very informative way you teach/share. Thank you for sharing your priceless gardening wisdom 😊

That was very informative. I recently made all the mistakes you can make, resulting in losing lots of plants. There's only one direction left to go. Happy growing.

I am starting home gardening in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), after watching many gardening channels, including yours. I started with CaliKim channel, she really inspires me. I've already started harvesting some of my garden produce.

Then write a comment on the CaliKim channel, instead of advertising for CaliKim on someone else's channel. Not cool.

I I didn't do the research and didn't think anything of just making holes the specified size and dropping my seeds in. I had no idea it mattered what side the should have been facing. Thank you so much. I'm not a gardener but I'm working on it. 😎👋💚👍

If what you've been doing works, then you should stick with it! But I just much better germination from orienting the seeds correctly at planting time.

@@SusansInTheGarden well. I am surprised but half of them actually sprouted and are processing. I didn't know if it would work and after watching your video had my doubts. Thankfully I've got some in the works. Thanks again and I'll be more studious on the future 😎👍
