After having had to cut through forests of the stuff at work, I've often said I'd NEVER plant it on my property, but I'm about to 'bite the bullet' and grow myself a privacy fence. This video helped me make that decision. Good luck, me!
I'm addicted to bamboo. We recently acquired 10 acres in south Florida and by the time I die, it's going to look like a jungle in Thailand.
Searched for bamboo, found this video that made me feel extremely calm. Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting. I’m so happy that you created this gorgeous, amazing wall, creating a sanctuary in the midst of garbage cans, pizza trucks, a giant high rise! Very good info on the pros and cons of growing it too.
She made my bamboo grow!!!
I emwanted to plant on my property in east tn for years! Thanks and I've gotta say your just simply beautiful! My goodness, breathtaking!
As one who came from south east Asia, I love bamboos. It's versatile, can be used as a building material, privacy hedging (as shown here), even for cooking (shoots). Thanks for sharing. 🙏 And what a lovely host. 😍
I love Bamboo ae well. There is a wonderful vibe when you walk inside a bamboo forest. I plan to plant some for privacy next to my pool. Thanks for the video!
Great video! I love bamboos. Recently planted two clumps of fargesia. It's amazing how fast they respond to a heavy watering if they started to dry out. I thought I lost mine but they bounced back very well😊

@@HollywoodVines Are you happy to teach & talk Bamboo cultivation in a Q & A Livestream? What are the benefits of growing in an urban environment? I would love to learn from your experience, as within the UK, it looks great for acting as a partition screen & sound barrier, whilst being positive for the carbon absorption.
What a soothing voice! Very informative and straight to the point video! Thank you!

My pleasure! I’ve had to learn a lot about bamboo to keep this colony healthy!
You are 100% correct but unfortunately Bamboo is ridiculously expensive in the USA. I live in the Philippines and the identical bamboo we buy & sell here for $1-2 dollars is sold for over $65++ in the USA.
Thank you for the video. I've been looking for a privacy fence for my backyard garden too and now I know what to watch out for when planting bamboo.
your voice is so soothing, so is your lawn. Great job.
Best video I came across , informative , straight to the point and loaded with great tips . I just subscribed, thanks !
I’m so happy that I found your channel. I was looking for information about Bamboo and I found you lol 😊
Compost is also available in your own backyard, from kitchen scraps. Plus, you avoid plastic sacks and shipping of tons of dirt
Thanks for the upload! I finally saw your movie 'Free Fall' a few days ago. It was fantastic! :)
Thanks for the information, I have a ton of bamboo in my backyard now I know how it works.
Thank you. You made me realize I was not watering enough. Desert/hot climate. Looking forward to better results this year. I had done the research, but you seem to have had the same experience with lack of water. Great experiment. Thank you and be well.
By planting bamboo, without you realizing it, you have contributed to saving this planet
Your eye makeup is as immaculate as the bamboo info in your video. You have a stunning garden, and you are yourself both talented and stunning. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this with people I m looking forward to start growing my own bamboo
Fascinating, more work than I thought!
I'm so impressed by your green skills! 🌱🌟
Great bamboo videos. Thanks. Looking to see more uses as we go.
Such a magical tree, I mean grass! I love bamboo
Nicely done. Looking to grow bamboo on my property in the inland northwest. Some varieties do better than others in cooler zones. Anything will grow in SoCal for the most part. I was raised there.
Thank you for sharing! This was so helpful
That so beautiful!!! I wish I could get some cuttings of that bamboo to grow on my property!
Hi am from uk 🇬🇧 just came across your video Looking for bamboo BUT WOW YOUR PARTNER SO SO LUCKY to have you good video's seen a lot now 😊😊😊❤

Whoa that's the secret 2xdaily watering. Looks superb , nice production 👏🏼👏🏼
I like your video on growing bamboo. My wife, and I are gonna try growing some ourselves this spring and summer...
Love these videos, thank you for sharing.
I love Bamboo, I have 2 varieties, black and red.. I’ve had them potted for the last 4 years or so, and next spring I will be taking them out of their pots and cutting each in half vertically.. I have watched someone do it on a KZread vid. I live in the UK so I don’t think bamboos here can grow to the size as the ones in your beautiful garden. Thank you for all the valuable information. Maz
A great video! All the info in few minutes ❤
Incredibly well spoken.
Love this video thank you for all the tips
You rocked (As always) 👏👏

Fantastic video! Thanks 👍😁 Just have a few questions for you. I have the same dripper system on my bamboo, yours look so good so I'm wondering how long you water them for during each of the daily patterns? Thank you from Australia!
Hola How very nice of you to share all the information about this amazing plant ... "Bamboo" #Gratitude
Hi Sarah! thanks for sharing.. your bamboo's look very happy in your garden.. one thing about those "annoying" shoots, you know you can eat them.. when they pop out about 50cm.. and more then that - you can make some beautiful art with them. the shoots are traditionally used in cutlery, cups, mugs.. its beautiful and dense wood that is durable and water proof.. so you know, if you didnt already.. XX
This video was so informative thank you!

I'm happy that I finally managed to get a hold of bamboo seeds after 15+ years of searching around XD
thanks I learnt a lot. Great video
My shoot started rising just looking at you and your bamboo
Absolutely beautiful. The bamboos nice too.
Great video!!! It seems like such a useful source of (Bamboo) I want to grow some but I know it will get out of control. I'm not sure if I will try it or not. If I build a serious containment for it that may give me the confidence to do it. Thank You!!! I subscribed. Look forward to seeing more of your videos. Cheers!
Great information here thanks!

That looks amazing! I have some clumping varieties along my fenceline for privacy, but it only gets about 8 ft tall...
Two years! Awesome video! Questions: 1. What type of soil do you have? (Clay, sand, pure black gold) 2. Wow, 2 years later! I wonder how are your bamboo doing? 3. What did the county/city ordinance say about maintaining the bamboo? 4. How deep does the bamboo rhizome system grow? I’m concerned with it growing too close to structures and compromising the foundation substrate. 5. Along with the bamboo barrier, could I use a 4”-6” thick cement trench wall? If so, how deep should I go? 6. How can you tell if you have a clumping or running bamboo? 7. If I grow nitrogen/nutrient providing Comfrey before the bamboo, would that suffice for feeding at least its nitrogen needs? 8. How tall did your bamboo grow? And how long did it take to get to that height? Thank you so much for your great help, patience and kindness in answering these questions! 😊
Greetings from the LooseNatural farm in Andalusia Spain where we currently live through a drought and we are creating swales and plant them with bamboo
I just decided I'm not planting bamboo. I had no idea it grew that fast 😂
Wow, yours looks amazing! I wonder why you fertilize the bamboo in winter time though, isn't it better to do it in early spring instead? Wouldn't the nutrients wash away during winter?
what is the official name for this bamboo type? it is absolutely beautiful!! ❤️
Thanks for sharing
Whenever I hear your voice I think of you talking to the sheriff on the phone 😆

In some areas it is wise to use clumping, rather than running, bamboo. The cold weather running bamboo can be difficult to control in hot climates . But there and a huge variety of bamboos that clump and have all the same benefits commercially and environmentally.
That is incredible!
exactly what i needed to know, this was perfect.
Dope , good info 👍
awesome video...how many feet does the clumping bamboo grow from it's original mother plant?
dayuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum DAT BAMBOO DOE! Thats high af looks like you live in a forest now haha amazing! Also that grower though
helpful information thx for sharing :)
fantastic video
I think this is the answer to the current lumber crisis, problem is getting it processed into construction grade plywood by next month.
Beautiful!
use containers i've found large old cast iron baths work well and use vinca or certain ivy's to grow over the sides if you wish to hide the bath - and choose less vigorous versions.
It's a useful plant. It can be invasive if planted in the wrong place, but if you have an area dedicated to it, plant the right species and take measures in advance to contain it, it's manageable. If it were as bad as everyone says it is, the whole world would be covered in it. I think loblolly pine is invasive, but you rarely hear anyone complain about it.
Good information
holy moly. If you had it that high in the uk LOL neighbours would go mad.
First off. Man to woman. Youre a weed in the fields of roses, resilient, strong, beautiful when understood. I want to understand you ❤ Thays my "rizz"
Thank you for such a great presentation. With enough water & nitrogen, bamboo sounds like it would make a great "gap filler" for the border wall.
Thanks for sharing.

one maintenance activity I do is cut all the dead or even old culms out...and if you're completely bamboo ocd, you can shred/chip those culms/leaves and use that as a compost.
I have just realised my bamboo is flowering , four plants spaced out all have began the process. I am thinking of using the seed to grow more. I am wondering if any other plants in the world are also flowering as I have learnt this can happen. Great video thanks
wow so amazing thanks for sharing😍😍😍
Nice love bamboo
thank you so much for this...i just got my first bamboo from lidl today...it's in this little 1" pot in what looks like broken up corkboard...it's about 1' tall so far (i think it may have grown 6" since this afternoon)...i hope it doesn't get too out of hand as i'm in a nyc apartment and it's on this 10 tier planter shelfey thing next to my window...it says not too much sunlight...that window only gets about 2 hours of sunlight...will that be ok?..i'm going to repot it into a 15" pot and hope it likes it there...i'm naming her sarah...yes all my plants have names...do you think you could grow some tea?..i'm a huge tea freak and infuse it into everything, especially spirits...thanks again...loving your videos.
As fast as I can fall in love with someone's eyes explaining this :)

Not sure who's prettier, her or her yard!! (of course her😎) I agree with the comment about her voice being soothing. Been trying to grow blue bamboo here in central Florida without any luck. Although I tried germinate the seeds in a pot instead of paper towel. That's next.
Very cute !
HOLLY MOLLY!!! that is a privacy WALL!! amazing!
