This video is merely an example, and by no means is a substitute for a certified technician, shop manual procedure, or common sense. If you in any way, shape, or form feel like you do not have the skills and finesse required to complete the job, ALWAYS have a certified technician perform the job.
In this video Rob Kozler from www.MotoLabDirtBikes.com provides an example of how to bleed your hydraulic clutch. We'll use our friend gravity on this one to make the job quick and hassle free.

Great video thanks. Your tips saved me buying a $25+ KTM tool. BRRAP!
Thank you a lot for this! I own a 2008 KTM 525XC ATV that uses the magura hydraulic clutch.
Thank you very much, very clear information and video, really appreciated
Thank you for posting. Replaced Clutch Slave Cylinder and couldn't get bled........your instructions worked great.
Helped a lot, thank you!
Holy Shit! It's about simplicity! Im so pleased with this video it's not even funny! I got off my ass waiting for my Ducati guy. Job done have a nice day!
Sure, you can just let it run down the motor. Then make sure you rinse it off after. Thanks for watching, hope that helps!
Opening the bleed port on the slave cylinder too far, or pumping the lever and the fluid will run out faster than you can keep the reservoir full. It's up to you to decide, all I am doing is providing an example here. Thanks for watching and check out www.motolabdirtbikes.com for on sale Moto and Dual Sport products too!
Worked great!
Lars, at 1:20 its clearly stated that the Brembo units use Brake fluid and the Magura uses mineral oil. And, ALWAYS consult your owners manual first for your each individual application. You're welcome.
Great video u save me dude peace and love mixing gas & hauling gas
Great video!!
o thats a good stuff, I always playing with syringe , but looks like this is easier!
I'll give this a try thanks
Thank you for the instruction. I did this on my 85 and it worked thanks. Also I subscribed
why my 04 harley screaming eagle when it gets hot my trans spins i change cluches and still the same can some one let me know why
Nice video bro 👍
No, just let gravity do its work. If the fluid does not want to come out, simply turn the bleed screw counterclockwise 1-2 more turns. Hope this helps!
Do I need to have fluid already in the bottle and then the tube inside of the fluid?
do you have to use a tube and a bottle or can i just let it run away or will air leak in??
thank you this is goint to help
KTM says to use DOT 5.1 brake fluid for Brembo setups
Thank you :D
Thank you
Right on 👍
Check your manual for each individual application. Berapp!

+Moto Lab Dirt Bikes Couldn't you speed up this process by pumping the clutch lever? Why do you just let it slowly drain?
do you need to pump the lever?
Thanks had to take bleed nipple off mine before it started
You look like Will Ferrel
This method really does not work if you have let most of the fluid out of the line. The air in the line is trying to go up just as much as the fluid is trying to fall, and the line is too thin for the two to pass each other, thus, nothing happens. I resorted back to my suck pump, took a lot of pumping, but I got her. once you start getting pressure back into the lever, I recommend going back to the lever pumping method.

todd reynolds, I'll be honest with you. I'm not really the best person to ask. I have not perfected bleeding hydraulic lines. it always seems like a pain in the ass! But this response was after my law experience after having to replace a faulty slave cylinder.

Gravity bleeding is for routine maintenance. If you've sucked air into the line, yes, you will need to push from bottom to top using a syringe. Best of luck!

Subbed... Great content keep up the awesome work.. Also i have a channel as well, maybe u could check it out thanks..
Older bikes have magura eh lol? Mines a 2013! (Hint, it's really any bike 200cc and smaller that has magura)
Brake fluid in a magura clutch on a KTM is WRONG! Only use mineral hydraulic oil, like magura blood.
