i'm not sure if i qualify since i have no prior healthcare experience or worked with underserved populations before in any job or internship. the two year commitment could be rough if the facilities are in such desperate need of nurses and it's not a safe environment, and one might feel stuck there until the commitment ends. but it sounds amazing to not have to deal with crushing student debt for many years. i'll be looking into it though and sending to those i know are going into nursing school soon. thanks for the info!

@@soiarers838 I think a lot has to do with the superficial stigma of community college. Our society values the names of schools so much, when in reality, it really doesn't matter where you went to school once you're in your career, as a nurse. I'm sure there can be multiple factors, like choosing a university that doesn't accept community college credits, etc. Just my thoughts!

@@Katherine_Ann Thankyou so much for ya help. That’s an answer to prayer honestly. I am stressed out. I graduated with an Associate of Science in Medical science because my CC didn’t have slots for the nursing program. Anyhow I got a 73.3 on my teas exam. I live in NJ and I did get accepted into Thomas Edison State university hopefully for Sept cohort. But it’s an hour n half drive one way. And program is gonna cost close to 40k. Which is a lot. Idk how I will be able to pay, but I know God will provide somehow. I also have an option to do an LPN program in another school in April which is 12 months. It’s closer to home .. I am a single mother of a 4 year old girl. And I need to be close to her incase anything ever happens .. I am tired of being in school I am in my 30”s. I did hair coloring for 10 years. When I had my daughter I decided I wanted nursing as a profession. Idk wat to do. I feel as if I wanna be done with school. Which route is easier? Idk. But as a mom, I have to work. So I wanted to finish school as quickly as I can so I can work already…. Any advice I would appreciate. Thanks so much! Your awesome!

@@nancyrozewicz1458 Oh wow, Nancy that's a long drive and I think there's better options for you. I always like to steer people away from debt, maybe you could look into working for a hospital as a PCA/CNA and they could help cover tuition and maybe you could find a nights or weekends program at a college closer to you. I'm sure that would be incredibly challenging with a four year old, but if you're sending her to kindergarten soon, maybe that would make it easier. It's a tough situation, ultimately you just have to weigh the pros and cons for what works best for you. Let me know what you decide, I'd love to hear it.

One of the best paths I think you could take is work for a healthcare institution that will pay for all or part of your tuition.
