I just did pretty much the same thing a few weeks ago, and was thinking “who do I think I am?” I didn’t precisely section off, I didn’t necessarily grab the same amount of hair, I tried, but certain I didn’t succeed, then gave up on trying to “point cut” and like you, just cut straight across. I just wanted a more choppy look to my bob. I do have thinning shears, but didn’t know how to use them, and wasn’t sure if I should because I have fine thin hair. I just happened to come across your video, and your down to earth, just go for it approach was so refreshing. Thank you.

A razor tool instead of scissors works for a shag so much better. I was a stylist thr first time in the 70’s when this cut came out. We only used razors back then. This gal has thick so it looks ok. There are videos on you tube how to cut with a razor. The hair lays so much nicer for the shag. It’s a layered hair style.

Totally adorable! I’ve had this cut several times over the years and it never gets old... it’s always popular just different variations.
This is probably the easiest tutorial to follow for this cut. Thank you!
Omg this saved my hair!! I was a stylist back in the day and I forgot you can cut hair this way!
First off… This is the first time I’ve come across your videos, and girl you are so gorgeous omg. I’ve been doing my own hair for awhile and it’s been falling flat, this was so helpful!!

So ok, I just finished cutting it, showered, and now I’m living my best life. Thank you so much for the help. My hair is a little bit shorter, but I did some tricks and it worked too 🥰

Omg I just love you! Thank you.

Thanks! You are so kind. I'll usually use thinning shears even on fine hair just at the ends to make them wispier, but I am sure it still looks great.

This was an excellent tutorial! My stylist cut my layers longer than a shag and I was able to give my hair a quick fix with this video.
thank you for getting straight to the point‼️‼️❤️
I’ve been chopping the ends of my hair off with the side ponytails trick since the beginning of Covid instead of going to get my hair trimmed because I hate going to the salon. I have been wanting to try an actual style or giving myself layers, but I have been too scared. I can handle a slightly uneven haircut, but I don’t want to walk around looking like I ran into Edward Scissorhands. I’m scared, but this video makes it so tempting. I wish there was a way for people to post pics of their results in the comments from following this video. Shoutout to all you brave ones just going through with it!
Fantastic style , the way you cut it and curled it , I loved it . looks fab.
Perfect shag from the 70s! The last time I went in and said I want the old Shag. She said do you mean a mullet? Nooooo, it was cut up back. Awful awful. I tried to show her the overcorrection, the blending and she said snotty. I know what I'm doing. The hell you do!
Yr hair is exactly how i wanted mine. So i did it and it worked. You rock!!! Thanku.🇳🇿❤ps....you have a younger 'Brook Shields' look going on. You're beautiful!

Followed your tutorial today and it actually came out quite well - you have to know that this is a big compliment even if it doesn't sound like that, because I'm usually a person who can't even comb her hair right, so...

Beautiful! You did a great job...thank you!
Beautiful outcome!
Thank you so much. Your video is the best out of the 100’s I watched on cutting this style of haircut.

LOVE this. Looks so gorgeous and you're a lot of fun. It's hard to watch some of these how-to vids but this one went by in a flash. One question though, at the end you say make sure you get "something" shears but I didn't catch the word before shears. Thinning shears?

Love the hair! I have something similar (cut myself - hate hairdressers!) but unfortunately my hair isn't as thick so it's a bit more wispy. This looks fab in you (although you have a pretty face so that helps!)

Thanks! I use Toni and Guy (which I have liked) but I think I might try ARC scissors next.
I highkey think she'd look great with shorter bangs with that cut! Compared to how light the layers were the bangs weighed it down a lil bit

I totally agree! Normally I would, but I'm trying to grow my bangs out a little longer.
Hi Liz, thank you, I'm going to do this today, my hair is curly, but same format for cutting. Your very easy to understand and have a friendly, helpful vibe to your tutorial. Strange, and didn't see where anyone else noticed the tiny orb like light, flying around your left by the door, then floor to ceiling. This starts at 3:00 minute in and more visible at 4:00. Maybe something to do with your light on computer, I have no idea, but I watched the video 3 times to be sure my eyes weren't fooling me. I don't mean to sound like a creeper, but I'd want to know if it were me, if not computer, then thats really cool. Check it out!
What a beautiful hair you have ! Easy to make that style works with a hair like yours ...not for everybody though . But you look gorgeous!

Wow, what a great help! Definitely subscribed!
If you make a ponytail on top of your head and then two pigtails one on each side of your head, you only have to make three cuts to come out with the same shag haircut. The bangs will not be as disconnected as they were in this cut either.

I'm sure you are right. There are multiple ways to achieve this cut.I like to take smaller sections for a more precise cut.

I love this and I’m going to try to do it this weekend! How can I do this and then use a side part? I want to be able to center part and then side part. Is it possible to do this cut and change where you part your hair occasionally? Would you cut it using the center and then just part it where you want whenever?
@LizDoesHairUtah
2 жыл бұрын
If you like to change your part around, I suggest doing it down the middle. If you always part it to the side, cut it with the side part. Good Luck!!
You have beautiful natural hair color and texture.
