I’ve been wrapping with awkward boxes for years, but it helps to see how other people do it! Question: I go a little crazy and use clear packing tape to tape all the seams, corners, and edges so it doesn’t get tattered in shipping. Too much? It does take a lot of extra time. Should I let it go and not tape like a mad woman?

Hi Erin. Good question. I do reinforce the rear corners with clear packing tape, as it tends to tear sometimes at the fold of the lid at the corners. I don’t think I did this in the video, but when I tape the wrapping paper to the inside of the box, I often use clear packing tape, bc it seems to stick better to the inside brown cardboard than regular scotch tape. When I do that I apply the edge of The packing tape to the outside part of the wrapping paper and fold it over the top edges and down into the inside of the box. Because the packing tape is so wide, this allows me to reinforce the rim edges of the box, if that makes sense. Other than that, I don’t necessarily reinforce the outside wrapping paper with clear packing tape, unless a particular box or the type of wrapping paper I used appears to need more. I have never taped an entire box. It’s not a bad idea, but since I packed 60 boxes, that would be an awful lot of tape.

Wow our occ cardboard boxes are 11x6! I would think they would all be the same size since a lady that helps put them on the pallets days the box size is based on the pallet size because it allows a certain number to fit perfectly...so it messes that up when people use bigger boxes. I try not to use bigger ones it sometimes it’s tricky. I think it’s going to be tricky with boxing the menstrual pads with other things! I added 3 to my first big girls box but I know they should def have more than 3, so I’m going to add more when I make my own..

Tray, maybe it’s different in Canada, but our cardboard OCC Shoeboxes are 7 x 12”. I think maybe the old ones were 11 x 6”. The plastic OCC shoeboxes are 7.5 x 13“ (measured at the largest point, from the top). Also, these are inches I’m speaking of. You know, us Americans don’t do centimeters, LOL.

I wrapped a bigger box last year and it was bad lol it had an attached lid..I found when I made it tight the lid wouldn’t go down well 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, well, I use the wrong wording. I should have said taught or snug. My point was, you don’t want any wrinkles or sags in the paper, because that can happen in the back while wrapping these attached lid boxes.

Personally I would eliminate the background music. It’s distracting. Good info! 👍
