Tbf they keep hinting at marika being a “mother” in the dlc so I just did it and it worked, but that was cuz I was playing with friends and were always paying attention to the lore and reading descriptions when we go to different areeas

I had everything. The gesture, the way down there, heck i even searched this room like 15 mins ago wondering about the weird message on the floor. I even checked the statue twice. But never ever i would have figured the last step out. Searched the freaking castle for like 3 hours straight. You saved me my dude ❤

You know, it’s not that I don’t like these kinds of hidden passageways it’s the fact that there’s no subtle hints there is one. To me they should’ve added gouge marks in the floor where the statue slides to tell the player “hey, this thing can be moved.”

Right. I been considering playing more linear games since I do not have a lot of time anyways. Nowadays gigantic games like FF7 Rebirth has markings on the floor and even teleport after mission complete. Stellar Blade is not particularly easy nor gigantic and has them. RE4: R is very linear and can be beaten in 3 hours while being a forever classic 10/10 and has them in the Remake. Armored Core 6 do not have those and is linear enough and the maps are just right... mostly, but Elden takes everything to another level and that is also the why we are addicted to it. I pre-order the DLC and all of those games I mentioned were my only pre orders (apart from GTAV and RDR2) in my life. So the DLC gets easier as you explore and more rewarding. But this is a game to shelve contrary to likes of AC6, Stellar and RE4.

How does anyone figure this out without a guide or looking it up. It honestly blows my mind. Are there hints or something like letters or npc dialogue or something that explains it? Thanks man. That was driving me crazy tonight I was looking everywhere in that area for anything and everything but ended up giving up. A little to the left of where that pit is has a SIGNIFICANTLY easier drop with a couple of dogs, it's under a larger building that's almost shaped like a church. In case anybody else lost around 100k runes to the hole like I did at first

This is more frustration than a fun. I mean, i get it that it's becoming very unpopular when a game holds your hand, but this is too much. Imagine a real life situation when you wanna get somewhere and you don't know how and you cannot find a way to get there. Well, then you say "there is probably no way to get there" and you give up and move on, because there really may not be way to get there. But since this is a video game and you clearly see that this is a playable area, you keep searching, because it would be glitch if you couldn't get there. This create very unnatural situation and it makes you frustrated. You cannot simply not give y clue or hint how to get somewhere in video games. Because you are then making this like it was in real life. But in real life, not all areas may be reachable. In games, everything is reachable somehow. But if devs won't tell us how at all, it's frustration and not fun. I don't wanna spend hours looking for something in games.

Somehow this DLC makes it harder to reach locations than the base game. Ugh

this is not the actual way there are 2 holes you can go into in the ruins one has a tunnel that leads you down there on a normal path.

i really wanted to discover all the areas by my self but man, i did manage to get all the way to the statue finding a gesture and thinking of using it here is too much

If you turn left at 2:41 you can drain the water, like in Dark Souls, and follow the path down to a remembrance boss. I found it very balanced at 12 Scadu levels, pure strength build with no summons. Probably the most decent fight in the entire game, after Mesmer.

Had all those sites of grace, just didn't know about where to use the gesture, I collected the gesture because I knew it got used somewhere then got distracted doing other stuff I think.

Definitely not a game for casuals cuz i swear i ran thru bonny village around 7-8 times and did not see that gesture and even if i did i wouldny kniw where to use it. I thought i needed a key to open that area after the boss

Clearly did not explore enough, since I was at Bonny Village not long ago. Going back and forth between the Abyssal Woods and Shadowkeep atm.

Can you go there without this gesture? Meaning a different way of getting there or a glitch?

I like secret areas but when 50% of the map is a secret area that the game barely gives hints on how to access them thats when it goes too far for me. Basically you miss one small thing in some random location and you're never going to access other completely seperate location. So gg if you missed the gesture because theres nothing driving you towards it once you move on from the village with no reason whatsoever for coming back.

I made the jump. There's a ledge under the roof piece you stand on. You need walk off the edge with Torrent and do a mid air 180 jump with him. Then when you jump off that ledge walk off or jump but LAND on something tall enough at the bottom so you don't die. you might take some damage but atleast you made it down. Now just find a grace.
