Great guide! Are both of them still poisoned if only one of them is hit with a poison arrow?

Thanks for the walkthrough. I finally managed to get to sunken city... and then immediately died by getting crushed by the bubbles.

Every time I get the qilin, some mystical rube Goldberg chain reaction of events happens killing it, and very often, me. I was literally just before tiamat, at the exit to the 4rd level, and there was a shop selling the dog. I got off qilin for one second to buy the dog when a spark trap hurled it at me, igniting my jetpack, and killing me, qilin, the dog, and the shopkeeper instantly.

step 1: try to beat the mines naajajaj

So step by step: 1. Get the eye 👁 Optional: free Van Horsing 2. Get the crown 👑 Optional: get vlad’s cape 3. Get the ankh in olmec’s room 4. Get the sword in 4-2 🗡 5. When in 4-3, go all the way down under the lava. Take the golden idol and let the lava kill you. 6. Go up and kill abzu and make sure you have got the tablet of destiny. 7. Go to 6-2. Optional: Grab the clover to get some extra time. ☘️ 8. Find a door in 6-2 and grab the idol fitting the description of tablet of destiny in your journal. 9. Go to 6-3. Qilin will spawn. 10. Once in 6-4 , the boss level, fly all the way up using Qilin. 11. You can find Hundun in 7-4. Optional: shoot Hundun in the eye with the bow of the Moon challenge to go to Pasific Ocean.

If you want to make vlad’s fight easier than find the key in the first volcano level and than find the locked door in the same level. Doing this will bring a guy with a crossbow into vlad’s layer and he can shoot vlad once you engage in the fight almost instantly

If you stand in the hands of the statue next to to the red door in the sunken city for about 10 seconds you get 4 hp.

Sunken city has really realistic eyes and mouths and it’s really disturbing and disgusting

I had a really vivid apocalyptic dream that was exactly like the sunken city years ago. I was in a city like tokyo 3 where all the buildings could go down into the ground for whatever reason, but the problem was they were going down into pink sludge, which was composed of a mixture of bodies and trash. Now combine that with the cities failing economy and the buildings leaks, if you didn't get a high apartment and the building submerged, you were fucked.

Udjat eye is more special than I thought

Btw for a high score run you should probably go jungle --> Temple of Anubis, this way you can keep the udjat eye and also go to the city of gold, though to get to Duat, which is the equivalent of Abzu, you lose your weapon/backpack, so I advise dropping a jetpack or something off at Waddler's in 3-1 and picking it back up in 5-1. And if you choose to go to Vlad's castle, in 2-1 Volcana you can rescue Van Horsing, he is in a locked door, and he will show up to beat Vlad's ass for you.

Does jungle have more money than volcana? I find it easier to skip using the udjat eye there by using bombs and the crates in the ground

You do need to find the black market in the jungle and buy the hedjet if you wanna go through the Abzu route however

Unless theres a block that spawns blocking his way, if that happens (which can but should only happen rarely) you can just pick up van horsings arrow and throw it at vlad for a oneshot. Idk if other bows/crossbows oneshot him aswell of if its just Van Horsings arrow but yeah thats how it be

@@Chromeno I believe it has to be an unbreakable arrow (blue one) or fired from a bow. I've thrown a red arrow at a vamp and seen them get hit by arrow traps and live

Little Jay best character, the looking up and crouching animations are the best

Easier way #1: using a ball and chain you can use a 1-4 checkpoint to get into vlads castle. Easier way #2: if you got a teleporter when you went to omlec, use 2 bombs in the far right corner where the ladders are. There is a secret door that leads to that slime guy, once you are there teleport to the ankh

sunken city is terrifying, made out of human body parts and it makes me feel crawling

So this is where the frogs went.......

I still watch these videos even though I already have the platinum trophy, btw maybe do a guide on the low scorer achievement?

trolleycartwings here’s a tip, teleporter and jetpack was what I used to do it. And also I recently got to 6-3 no gold again in 5:55 but I died because fire damage and jetpack. It hurt

You can also go to jungle and get the hedjet from the black market instead of vlad’s crown, and instead of going to tide pool you can go to temple then go to the city of gold with the scepter in hand, once in the city of gold sacrifice yourself to a kali altar (you can only sac yourself if you have the ankh), once you sac yourself you will be in Duat where you will fight Osiris and get the tablet of destiny, then proceed with the rest of the tutorial.

I mostly die just after the drill part. There’s always too much lava and it drips on to me and kills me

I know this is a sunken city tutorial, but you can drop excaliber off at wadlers on 5-1 and pick it back up for the sun challenge on 7-1 to make it super easy.

do you HAVE to defeat olmec? or can i just do the skip to get the anhk

You could do all of this but if you’re lazy and/or you have all the Journal entries just grab a jetpack or a hoverpack and some ropes and skip the entire questline

Dont press up or down and the jump button at the same time because it unmounts, only press the jump button to go up

You can actually use the hedjit interchangeably with the crown.

Update: this is patched i used poison arrow on hundun and only killed one head and the other was not poisoned so its false?

This was so helpful but I HAD TO RESTART LIKE 7 TIMES AND I GOT TO THE SUNKEN CITY im so mad rn i might cry.

I got knocked into lava :( before entering the boss in the tide pool

I got to Hunduns lair but died from an arrow and a bubble tile :(

Ropes are cut by the lasers, but Wolf found a way to use ropes, vlad's cape, and climbing gloves to get up.

I poisoned the chicken head and waited then it died, but the snake head is still alive, I kept waiting and nothing happened, I guess the poison method only works for 1 head, unless you poisoned both with 2 different arrows...

Today it was first time i reached sunken city in a non seeded run, i could have defeated hundun cuz i had many bombs and paste, but i got poisoned in 7-2 and i only had 11 hp 😭

Hey, I'm doing the poison strat on Hundun right now and I think something's gone wrong. I hit the snake head directly with a poison arrow, but only the snake head looks poisoned. Is the bird head poisoned as well or only the snake?

Right i have a massive apology in case you failed or died in that run. But in the video the other head actually got poisoned coming up. So i thought it was both heads got poisoned by one arrow. I am sorry but it was the coincidence that made it happen in the video.

Beat Hundun

Fact: You dont need to go to volcana or Tide pool if you prefer the other worlds then heres my guide 1:Get Udjat Eye 2:Go to jungle 3:Wait for the udjat eye to bleep in 1 of the 4 levels 4:Get the headjet either by buying or stealing 5:Get the ankh 6:Go to Temple 7:On 4-1 kill anubis and take his septer 8: On 4-2 find a gold door and while having the headjet and holding the septer your now in the city of gold 9:Find the alter and then as long as you have the ankh sacrifise your self 10:Kill Othris in duat 11:Get to neo Babylon while there in 6-2 there will be a back level with vase open your journal and check the one for tablet of destiny 12:Find the one that matches the description 13:If you choose correct it will open in 6-3 it will hatch a quillin keep him safe till tiamat 14:Fly above tiamat and be careful not do die via spark trap once there rat face will be there at a door go throught the door and go up the ship 15: Congrats you're now at suken city my only tip to you is watch out for 3 things 1:Regeneration block they will crush you or your items if on it when they regenerate 2:Poison traps they will end your run especially on 6-4 due there being no damsel to heal thus being on a timer to beat hundun 3:Blue frog because BLUE FROG OP i will never forgive them for spelunky HD

no - you can skip Qilin's ascent with a jetpack by either using a line of burned 1-segment ropes straight up the middle above Tiamat, or by jetpacking over to the side walls (right is easier due to clockwise spark traps), where there's horizontal ground you can use to recharge your jetpack.

unfortunately it is, as without it all you'd need are climbing gloves, jetpack, and/or ropes to get up. You can still do it without qilin, and there will always be a way, but removing the laser field makes it trivially easy to skip everything

You don’t need the kapala (skull cup) for this run but it just helps i guess. You get it by sacrificing two damsels. (Dog/cat/hamster). If you anger kali it will harder to get.

16 favor points, damsel give 8 (worth one gift from kali) and most live enemies are worth 2, and shopkeepers, and yang and all other npcs are worth 6, but it’s very hard to sacrifice them whilst they’re still alive

I made it all the way to abzu but went through the exit by accident.....
