I am brand new to this mycelium world. However, I've listened and watched dozens of vids for the various vehicles I own since I do my own work on them. This young man is by far the best example of how a KZread should be made. At 66, I'm taking this up as a hobby because in a couple more years, I'll be too crippled to stand for extended periods for outdoor activities. Anyway, I've learned a ton, and have read more in the past two weeks than in the past twenty years, since I became disabled. Thank you sir! Keep up the great work!!!

O i see how you can make the cultures/spores from scratch its what i gathered from other videos on mushrooms this finally confirmed it for me. You pasteurize a grain such as millet , wheat, rye ,...etc then add cuttings of a mushroom to a container wet it and provide a little oxygen but not alot until the culture gets established and takes over then it cannt by harmed with. Once you got enough of it in jars you can add it to your hay , straw, peat moss, soil mixes whatever your growing material is that you choose. And keep it moist. Nice i think i got the easy to hard... though it would be nice to have the vent and pressure canner. One has many sterilization methods for containers , grains , hay ,..etc so it really requires only the mushrooms to get a culture from ...so freaking cool have to try it to see i will it all works out someday .Great video.

I took the bits of the mushrooms that got covered in that white fluff while they were in my fridge and added them to a small tub of quite moist tea leaves. I'm keeping the thing in my fridge, since I thought that if the original mushrooms got their mycelium growing in those conditions, they must be appropriate, Nothing much is happening, though, but the white fluff is still there. Although, it may be mold. The tub is sealed, though. I will take of the lid and put it into a bigger bag.

Subscribed. I started with those mushrooms that most people are growing for, but really want to know how to grow Lion's Mane and Cordyceps. I'd love to see videos about how to grow those and other medicinal fungi.

Maybe using google translate you translate what you want to learn into Chinese or Tibetan you may find your answers, good luck! Those are great mushrooms to promote man Health specially with so much plastic been exposed even in mother’s womb. ( see videos of Dr. Shanna Swan in you tube). Yes. Cordyceps may help with that.

I had some leftover soy husks from making tofu and I didn't know what to do with them, well I sterilized them in a jar and put some oyster mushroom tissue in there. I hope I get mushrooms out of it, never done this before!

Urban farming to the max. Great way to start growing your own. Usefull during pandemic/econ problems when food becomes either to expensive or to scares and you dont have a garden.

Hey there, Biologist here, who already has a small sterile lab setup for iv propagation at home. Really would like to try out some mushroom growing, but I can't find any proper overview about which species are easy to grow on hardwood with traditional methods and which need much more special attention. Any content here, that I'm missing? Would make a great video! :)

Perlite holds air. You want to use vermiculite to hold water. Have you considered wet newspaper or sponges? Those would be cheaper options to slow release water

this is a amazing video Tony. Thanks a lot. I have a little question. I dont have intention to grow mushroom in a commercial scale. but I really wanna grow some Abalone for food. so i'm thinking to use pasteurized hardwood dust as my substrate. But i have to make my own spawn because the amount of abalone culture i can get it around 10g. can i use pasteurized grain to make my spawn. I don't have a pressure cooker
