How to Get Someone's Password
Ғылым және технология
It's inevitable that a criminal will make you the target. And one thing they may try to do is steal your password. This video demonstrates the many possible ways they may be able to get your password. Some might be your fault (like clicking a bad link), some might not (like if a company gets their database stolen). Top tips to stay safe are: use a complex long password that's different on every place you have a login, use a password manager to store all these passwords so you don't have to memorize them, and be extremely careful where you're entering your password so you don't accidentally give it to a criminal.

Hey ppl, I'm a retired computer/IT person, Yet I still find Dale Valskov so informative and straight forward. Thanks for your advise and helping the people...........Great work and love watching.
Account of mine also got hacked and I followed the method as explained in this video but I'm unable to proceed after recording the selfie video. Thank you Dale Valskov . It brings me immense joy to witness his name appearing frequently in comments, a clear indication of the commendable work he’s been doing.
Y’all should stop calling everything “the bare minimum” when it’s literally not. Respect is the bare minimum, actually going out of your way to comfort and have an open ear for someone isn’t. Doing something like this is truly very nice and a great thing of him to do. I hope shit gets better for you and I salute Dale Valskov for being mature when it’s needed!
We need more immeasurably wise and compassionate humans like you on this planet. Thank you for sharing Dale Valskov , Jon. I bet I'm not alone when I say this video found me at the perfect moment, and there are a lot of things here that I needed to hear right now.
Your work speaks volumes of the kind of man you are. efficient, organized and result oriented well done , Dale Valskov you're soo good at what you do
My account also got hacked and I followed the method as explained in this video but I'm unable to proceed after recording the selfie video. Thank you Dale Valskov . I'm really happy seeing his name everywhere in the comment. It really says a lot about his good work.
The efficiency of this Dale Valskov is next level. To juggle walk throughs of various angles on the topic delivered to-camera, differnet content per topic from various folks underneath the umbrella of the track list of the larger big band concert itself is engaging and refined. To make a dense taccess like this so digestible is really something. Awesome work jack!!
I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this. Because you're right. The worst thing that you can feel is hopelessness. And I hope that someone who is on the verge of losing hope finds Dale Valskov and realizes that as long as you're still alive and breathing, there's a chance, there's HOPE that the future is brighter then the present day.

The number of people I know that store all of their passwords in a document right on their desktop is insane.

i do the same for some passwords because when you do not have wifi to get to your email, you need a physical thing were to look. at least i do this with some wifi passwords i cracked, but i have see people do it with fvcking all their accounts in a little notebook in one side of their laptops... Its insane that, but th password manager alongside 2fa are the best, but the best is not the perfect, so i will say it only make it harder to get in someways, in other ways is just a bigger problem do it in that way. I have played watch dogs 1 and watch dogs 2, and a lot of times i were just looking from a camera some pinned pasword ina post-it paper, or just hearing someone having problems with something and then getting the password of those people in-game, other were getting into a building and just conecting something in the computer of the victim, and other times it just were conecting to the same network and getting the password, and well, other ways too. The things that are useful for the users to get the password also are useful things for the hackers to get the password of other people, and one of the biggest problems is that not all passwords are necesary to login in somewhere, so sometimes one just need a cookie to log in, or with cache data, it just surprisingly good how those tools function and the people did not worry about those things... It happen more times than i want to say ti happen.

I’m really bad at making unique, secure passwords. So every time I need a password for something, I use a Python script I wrote specifically for generating passwords. Instant 20 character password with capital, lowercase, and symbols. If you’re learning a programming language and you want a quick project for practice, make a password generator. You’ll use it more than you think.

back with a bang! great video jack!
I like this Jack. Taking something that can string into a list worksbwith your great storytelling and interview skills. As I listen to past works, you often express great interest, hinting at deeper thoughts, in a particularly notable insight gleaned along the way through working a story. A recent example I heard was the seemingly strong and consistent code of honor seen among darkness vendors for example. Selling "safe" rec drugs while refusing to allow the same for clearly harmful ones, the likes of krokadil comes to mind. Maybe expanding on one of those is another path you can take to compelling content. That all said, I have learned a lot and have really enjoyed your work. The stories of these people are super compelling! Live well Jack, and thank you.

Great video, Jack. Very informative, clear, and concise. You provided a ton of information and methods on this topic. I feel sort of bad for heckling you a bit on one of your interviews where you got a bit chatty in the editing. It might've not came across as constructive criticism, but that's how I meant it. So many people have their passwords saved in their web browser. They are always very easy to access. Some browsers ask the user to authenticate before viewing the full list of passwords, but one can easily see individual saved passwords by going into the login page of a website and viewing inspect element once it’s auto filled. This is really easy to do, and doesn’t actually take much time. People may walk away from a computer that’s logged in.
Love the new content, really informative, I’ll like to see more of it.

I am currently retired. In the past I did database applications. Talk about weak passwords, one of the managers used a very weak password. He couldn't remember his password to an employee database. So I opened the db and low and behold, there was his password: 12345. After a reprimand, I had the manager change his password to something more secure. Btw, one of the methods that was used in the past were screen scrappers for green screens running on pc's. Another was the use of the fact that older monitors could be read at a distance via radio waves. That was a favorite of our beloved government.

One that wasn't mentioned here in the social engineering section is that even if you can't figure out their password, you can almost certainly figure out the answers to their security questions using publicly available information about them. With a very weak security question, you can reset the password on many sites. That's why I generate long and complicated security question answers and treat them as a secondary password.

First we changed grades then they reset it so we got it again and just viewed stuffed and made minor tweaks(removing phone numbers from student files, opting out of emails to parents for no attendance, then we got an admins login and all hell broke loose. The school covered up a semester because the grades were changed in mass and the site they used didn’t a rollback feature. Some got fixed but most ended up with As and Bs that year

At first, I hated web security. Usually, in software engineering, you don't have to get it right the first time because you can always improve it later. Iterative development is the basis of software engineering. However, in web security, you MUST get it right the first time. It is a pretty daunting task. However, by watching videos like these and learning how exactly hackers hack, I can understand exactly how to beat them. Videos like this make web security seem more manageable.

Yesterday I saw someone who got a lawsuit because he found a way to (I think with html edit) give himself money from a gabling site. He explained it as: I looked at the code and saw the amount I was to receive, and changed it.
The email 'hint' is circular: you'd need the password to their email to receive any password (reset link) via their email!

A fun one they didn't mention. If you could get access to email spam service. They usually will scan URLs in the email, this would include the password reset link

Great video! will use it the next time i'm on the field
I’m so glad I have photographic memory. I use a 20 year old randomized aol password that is wildly random and I’ve memorized it to the point where I could not use it for a few years and still pull it out.
I am going to refer people to this video each time someone tells me, "my account got hacked!"

A few years ago I was living in a house that had no internet...I noticed a strong wifi signal with a random name and assumed it was from my nearest neighbour so entered their address as a password, viola! I was in...6 months later the wifi disappeared but there was another strong signal with the name "try and guess our password now" haha

I like to use either completely random and very long passwords (as long as is allowed) or make passwords that are also long, but made from fake and wrongly written words from different languages (alongside of course having numbers and special characters here and there). For security questions (and passwords), I never use the same information in two places, and the information I use is something far-fetched and random that has no relevance to me or the question, also written wrong and using slang words from different languages.
I have an embarrassing old tripod website from like 2005 that I've been trying to find someone to take it down, but maybe I'll use some of these suggestions and do it myself
The quality of your spy job is so incredibly high. If you don't have team usespy online behind you, then you are clearly a multi talented individual. The way the access is structured are perfect, the visuals are stunning, the narration is engaging, and of course, the project is itself intriguing. You are a professional !!
Twenty or so years ago I made a fake hotmail log in screen for my friends at my house. It would capture credentials and then forward the browser to the real hotmail. I’d observe their actions and they would think it was a glitch and type their info again. Then I’d show them what I’d done telling them to be more careful. Lol

Oh, fantastic! Another helpful guide on how to steal someone's password. Because clearly, we all need to know 64 different ways to invade someone's privacy.
The 65th way is creating a malicious KZread video that can scrape passwords from viewers KZread accounts.

Thank you for your full focus on the job instead of focusing on proving yourself to others. You always tried harder to be better usespy online and now your success speaks out louder. Thank you for a hard work. I’m sure it was worth it all. There is no doubt that you are the most deserving of all that should be given a shout out

This man really hit the ground running and hasn't stopped yet. He gives us more understanding of him without interviews and negative antics he just shows us who he is through the Recovery. True living legend. We salute to team usespy online. The execution, creativity, and goodness that came from it were inspiring on a number of levels. Cheers Alex & looking forward to seeing what you do next!
Even though as a developer I already knew pretty much all of the ways, it's absurd how dumb things people fall for, it's good to spread awareness.
