Simple. Use a tripod for sharpness in low light situations (or some other static item) Utilise your Shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings effectively.

Hi after watching this video it got me head scratching, I have a Nikon d3300 , and was astonished to find a lense test from the USA , that shows the kit lenses bundled with the camera only give effective 9 megapixels to the sensor ,, a disappointing result when the camera is 24 megapixels, I’ve given it tests against my Olympus micro 4 rds and my canon gx7 mk2 and now I leave the Nikon at home when going on hols etc ,, to get the best from that camera appears ya have to buy some fairly expensive lenses, to get the most from the censor,,, so after learning this,, the cameras at a disadvantage against a modern camera ,,,,, cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧,,, ps I’m 60 and have been messing with cameras and stuff since I was 19 thank you Shane

Hi, thanks for watching and thanks for leaving a comment. I actually have been disappointed with both Nikon cameras I have tested and with both I have struggled to just pick them up and get an auto shot I was happy with. I orginally thought the kit lens was ok and since have changed my mind. I know you don't get a perfect shot every time, though I can not rely on this camera to take it out. I'm about the same age as you. Cheers!

Interesting video! One thing I've learnt over the years is to learn a bit more about the optimum aperture (sweet spot) for each lens I have (and for the zoom lenses the sharpest aperture setting at each zoom range). It's very rare to get a kit lens with great sharpness all round. Also I suspect the phone is using a) some AI sharpening and b) the low light mode stitches multiple high shutter speed shots together to get a sharper final image.

Yeah exactly and most of the time we use a lens's widest setting without thinking about sharpness. A phone is using all sorts of trickery to improve the shot, and does make photography easy for the casual shooter. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment 👍👍

I think you need a better-quality tripod. That one looks very shaky.

Right! I was expecting some portrait photography since that's a genre I don't currently shoot but am interested in doing. (Yes, models!) So now he gets a thumbs down and a click on the "do not recommend this channel" for being shady... He may get the clicks initially but people won't stay because he is misleading. He's not building trust in his viewers.
