Hi Dylan; Amazing presentation again. Thank you. My goodness was I missing out on “using” the Calendar. Thanks, again. There was so much I was missing. Here still hot weather. It is awesome. Stay safe. Loved the pictures of you and your wife on the back wall. My wife said it reminded her of our own “walls” with our pictures. 👍💕💕👕 Biagio Bisignano

I have an issue and from responses from other Mac instructors on KZread, I'm the only one in the whole Mac world with this problem. When I get an invite, there is no option to accept, or decline. I thought you may touch on it when I saw those options on the sidebar in the calendar app, but you didn't. Those options don't show up there when I get an invite. The only way I can accept or decline meetings is to also have Outlook running. It works fine in Outlook. I appreciate any help you can give.

You are not alone. I am surprised everyone thinks this is just YOUR problem. It's not. It is a global problem. Email invitations are only reliable when you are using the same program. Google invites only properly connect with Google accounts, and Apple invites only reliably connect with Apple accounts. So, since you are able to get the invitations within Outlook, I assume that you are being invited by users on other Outlook/Microsoft accounts. I have found that the best way to solve this is to use a more powerful program than just the standard Apple or Outlook calendars. I recommend Busycal, which can be purchased as a standalone app (www.busymac.com) or as part of a larger subscription package through one of my favorite App Aggregators... Setapp. (setapp.sjv.io/c/4102508/344537/5114). With an app like Busycal, you can connect all your divergent calendar services (Google, Yahoo, Apple, Microsoft (Outlook), etc...) Once you add all the accounts in you will find you get invitiations much more reliably through all of these services, rather than just through Outlook or iCal. I wish there was a better solution, but Apple, Google, and Microsoft like you to use their apps exclusively, so they are not really motivated to fix this issue. Hope that helps!

How can I organize all day events in month view? The different calendars stack in random spots

You really can't. There's just not enough room in month mode... part of why I am almost always in week mode. You'll have more room there.

Hey Dylan, great video. Really informative. Id love to chat to you about a Digital Wall Calendar that links with iCal seamlessly over WiFi, allowing you to stay ontop of your calendar at a glance as a large wall display that is completely customizable. Let me know how we can communicate confidentially.

Hello. I am often getting invites to meetings by gmail. How to get these to my ICal? I usually forward the mail (with an ics file attached )to my iCloud mail and from there Siri will note me and I make an appointment. But this too complicated. How to do it the best way?

Unfortunately, when people invite you to a Gmail address you can’t reroute it easily. But what you can do is add your Google account to iCloud. You can do that by going to settings, Internet accounts (or mail depending on your operating system) and add your Google account there. If it’s already added make sure you turn on the calendar option. Then your invites will show up in iCal (you can do that on your phone and computer) and you can accept them directly and/or move them over to your iCal calendar once they’ve been accepted. If you have an added your account in, when you do it you can also have your mail come to Mac mail so you don’t have to go to that clunky terrible Gmail website. I have all my accounts and accounts come directly into the mail calendar so I never have to go to the web for Mail or Calendar. Hopefully that helps.
