it’s like a white lie. i’ve personally seen myself that it only takes connections maybe having money if you don’t have a strong personality or talent and being patient as hell, waiting your turn. that’s the basis of being successful in music and not everybody is willing to be patient and most everybody isn’t strong enough in all the divisions to be one of the faces of entertainment realistically. they just believe they are and forget art is about expression not just representation of a culture. if you’re willing to do a lot of work over a long period of time and shut up and work and put money in smartly you’ll be fine. some people genuinely get by simply by being likeable.
