Great video! Will test higher resolution next days with my seal. Really disappointing not to have option for re-calibration. This could reduce noise due to bad calibration. Every professional 3d scanner can be calibrated on your own.

On my PC JMStudio working fast Ryzen 7 5800x 64 ram. You will have better results if turn off texture and the set detail to normal. There always will be noise, but depence of the light in the room and brightness you set can be manage to lower. Post-processing is something necessary - you have to clean the noise by hand to help the software to do his thing later. My result are good so far, but I'm making 10 scans for every of my projects.

I have a 3060 Ti in my machine with 64GB of ram and the program is quite slow, it definitely does not use anywhere near what is available lol. Turning off texture and setting detail to normal does not get me better results, but rather it just eliminates the need to process color data and the normal detail just smooths out the scanned details (and noise) resulting in smoothed out models I talked about in previous videos. Other tests show lighting had little to no effect on the model since the scanner emits it's own light. In hindsight I think most issues have been related to model size (I'm scanning quite small objects) even though I'm well within the advertised size. All the noise I'm getting is making cleanup literally impossible to do no matter how many pieces or angles I scan. 3DMakerPro has reached out to me and said to scan objects larger then 100mm which is 10x bigger then the advertised size minimum which sucks and is not what I purchased this for. I'm learning a lot and it seems like after all this is the biggest factor in quality is reflectiveness and size haha. WOW this turned into a rant. k bye and thanks for the comment.

What PC specs are you using? I sense it is a little slow. It needs to be fast to capture the frames. Is this the Seal Lite or just Seal?

I’m having the same issues with my Seal. It has very little focal area, low depth, and can’t keep tracking… also, who makes 32 bit applications anymore??

Hello, how do you ensure that duplicates of the object are not generated during the scan... as if it moved it from place to place. thank yo

Keep your scanner steady. Don't move around too quickly. Some people opt for a tripod but I find it doesn't allow for a complete scan. Also I found if your model is too complicated (drastically closer and farther from the scanner focal range in one spot) the program loses tracking. It's tricky but I find a steady hand is best

Ya know what... since you're already talking to their people, you should ask them for an example scan and model of whatever they have as their "best representation of what this hardware can do". If we saw that at least we'd have a 'bar' to set it to and not go chasing what's not possible...

Im not having the same issues. Dont know why you have that much noise. Im no youtuber and therfor not a room full of lights. Try to only have the light on you need. And close all the curtains to avoid the big UV generator called the sun.

I’m very computer illiterate, is this something I should attempt on my own? I need this file sent to me from 3D MakerPro? Thanks for the video

It does take a little bit of computer literacy but once you find the folder and file, the rest is quite easy.

Just curious, how big is the actual physical object? I might have missed it in the video but I didn’t see a picture when I went back and scrubbed through the whole video.

Going by the amount of space it occupies on the turntable it’s definitely too small for the Seal.

@@MileHighMaker ah yeah that seems a bit small to expect too much out of a consumer grade scanner. We have a metrology grade scanner at work and there’s no way it could scan something that small and it costs literally 50x the Seal. It’s good to know the limit of the use case envelope though.

@@MileHighMaker So... You are 3d scanning an object that is 7/10ths of an inch with a $600 scanner and you thought you would get a detailed scan??? There is no way... Way too many issues...Especially with object you are trying to scan... The overhangs and shadows are an issue, the distance you are scanning from for that size object....last but NOT least the size of the object..... If the object is reflective(glossy/shiny) try some aby powder, flour, etc... move in closer, also append scans from multiple angles, put the object on both sides and append the scans...

Grande scanner, ottimo software ma pessimo piatto rotante. Secondo me lo scanner si incasina e il software si perde con i punti di repere del piatto giverole. Peccato!!

all depth sensor based scanners are bad at small objects, and mediocre at medium (person) to large objects (cars trucks).
