Apologies for the click! I’d already done one whole take of this the day before only to find the audio hadn’t worked at all and was distorted and unlistenable - I just wanted to get something out for you fine folk! Apologies once again and I’ll make sure it’s not in future videos! T

This song is rad. Sounds like something from The Bends.

Hi Tyler, that was very interesting and informative. Does this advice hold true across the full spectrum of rock music, or is it geared towards what we used to cal AOR? Re: the Click; I stopped hearing it after the first couple of audio clips (I think I might be a bit weird!)

I think it holds true for a lot of rock music, but I think you’d want to be tweaking EQ when using a pick, as well as how much drive and distortion - if you were being fussy at least! That’s good news about the click I’m glad to hear it and I’m exactly the same. It totally disappears to me and blends with the track as percussion, but I know that’s not the case for everyone! T

@@TylerSpicer It's weird, because I have found metronome apps to be really annoying. Re: sounds, I also tend to favour flatwound strings. I figure if it works for Steve Harris (and others, back in the day) it'll work for me. I like the spitty sound you can get from flats with a bit of overdrive. I look forward to your next installment.

So these strings (Thomastik Power bass) grew on you? I asked in that video, but you did not reply so I ask in here. Are they kind of stiff or soft? Just watched your video of the La Bella RX-N5D's. You say the La Bellas not are on the bright side, but how "dark" are they compared to the Powerbass strings? I just ordered 2 sets of the Power bass strings and 3 sets of Superalloys. I have the TI flats on one bass and have tried out the jazz roundwounds. Looking forward to checking out the last two of their bass strings!

They are! Yes! They’re probably right down the middle in terms of tension. I think the power bass are very similar in brightness to the RXs. Maybe a little brighter when first on! The TI strings are no doubt great, so I hope you enjoy them! T

The MTD sounds great and the Ampeg SVT plugin ins the one to use. The click track however ruins this video and I stopped watching because it was starting to get irritating, so loud in the mix, it was drowning out everything else. Can you not demo your ideas without the click please?

Sorry! I’m so used to click that I don’t actually hear it anymore 😅 I did think this in editing - but this was day 2 of trying to get a demo that worked so I was pretty desperate but that point! I’ll make sure to turn it off in future! T

@@TylerSpicer It didn't bother me at all. Just sounded like part of the percussion.
