Very interesting. It should be a hard work to get along these days and probably before. I'm happy that you decided to go for educational videos otherwise I would have never started to get a deeper insight of the piano. Thanks for your videos and private classes. Have a nice weekend 👏👏👏🎹🎵🎹

FANTASTIC!!! And very generous. Not my situation, but I'll share this with some of my young colleagues. Thank you, Maestro. Excellent content as always, but this is life-changing treasure.⭐🌹🌞🌹⭐

Thanks! I should have mentioned that many airports have difficulties with grand pianos at the security check in. "It's not hand luggage", they whined...

If you seriously have aspirations of making music more than a hobby, you have to put the extra time in to study theory, and learn as many songs as you can. If you’re able to go to a bar, or venue where there’s a band playing, and you see a keyboard player that you really like, you might be able to ask them if they are local to your area and if they ever do lessons, maybe just a few of them? You at least know that you’re going to like what the ‘teacher’ has to offer, and you can ask them other questions about working with other musicians. That kind of approach could be a sort of long term process, but it could actually save you time and money, to avoid just starting lessons with someone who you have never heard play, and don’t know if they know the music you’re into. There are chord apps that have all the different kinds of chords. You should try to learn a few chords every week, or month, and after a year, it adds up. But it makes a big difference if you have a teacher who could answer your questions, especially if you want to learn jazz, which you should if you’re interested in it. The different chords, like 9th’s, 11th’s, 13’s, aren’t difficult, they’re all similar except for one or two notes being added or different. The important thing is just getting familiar with them. It takes time, but it’s not rocket science. Then of course, we have Christian here, the best teacher on KZread for the Blues and a variety of classic songs. While you try finding a good teacher, Christian’s lessons really are some of the best, as far as authentic blues and other styles, and the way he presents it with the second keyboard that has the green 🎹 keys that show exactly what the notes are is a great help for learning. If you have aspirations of being an artist/songwriter, you should try to make use of whatever chords you know at whatever stage you’re at, at the same time you are learning more about music. If you can only afford to pay for a lesson six times a year, then you should find a piano teacher who will be ok with that. Some won’t. But it will make a big difference if you have someone who can at least help you with a sense of direction, who you can show what you’re working on, and you can actually have conversations with about music. Being in the same room with a teacher is much more worthwhile than ‘zoom lessons’, but if you only can do zoom sorts of lessons, it’s worth a try. It comes down to what you can make the time to try and learn. For example, if you only learn one song a month in the next year, that’s twelve songs, but if you can find time to learn five songs a month, that add up to significantly more in a year, and then double that in two years. So it depends on how you use the time. It’s not easy, there’s always something else that can get our attention. So, you’re either learning music or not. It’s easy to listen to some music and think, that’s not hard I can probably play that, but there’s no substitute for actual hands on the keyboard time, good luck!

Finally turned on cc. "... most expensive black wheels" didn't make sense, but "most expensive luxury hotels" does.

Hi Christian. Thank you for these tips. What are your thought on calling and/or e-mailing hotels, restaurants even nursing homes? I'm a vision impaired piano player so I'll need someone to drive me to gigs. So for me it's impractical to visit in person. Thank you again.

In that case you should follow my ideas on mailing from the video. Nursing homes: A friend of mine actually tried to find his niche in the market and wrote to nursing homes all over town. Some got back and he got some regular gigs for it. So it's worth a try! Good luck!

Thanks for your generous tips, Christian. But maybe all you need to do is to tell the name of your teacher, you know, that guy from Berlin. And if you get a job in a submarine you'll know who to blame. Have a nice week-end / Bernard.
