How To Get Confidence like Tyler Durden

Ойын-сауық

Fight Club is easily one of the most influential movies in the past few decades. And why? because it's relatable. It tells the story of a depressed consumeristic man who finds his way into a less depressed consumeristic life by the means of a man named Tyler Durden.....
yeah hes pretty much literally me.

You have a great voice to listen to. And when you stop caring about what other people think (within reason: you don't have the right to hurt people) improves your life *dramatically*: you stop letting the opinions of "other people" affect your behavior, and how you feel about yourself. (And if Tyler were an out of shape dude, no one would have been inspired by him. Sorry, not sorry.) All the best.

(3:30) I once had long night conversations with a girl I had a crush on. To lighten the interaction and have a more open chat, I decided to have a small drink but with high percentage. Surprisingly, this worked for me, I was able to relax and communicate more freely. However, it's important to note that this approach isn't for everyone. Personally, I tend to feel less comfortable in conversations, with the exception of conversations with close friends and loved ones. Anyway.. I think you giving great Advice man! I will try to work on it.

as much as I agree, the next logical thing from “letting go” which idk what that means to you or anybody, is becoming the best version of yourself. Tyler’s quote about self improvement is referring to working towards a meaningless goal just because to give yourself some dopamine hit like masterbating. If someone is to find their purpose and work towards it, it is not meaningless, and it provides an outlet for fulfillment as well as not just looking for meaningless joy in the consumeristic dopamine filled world.

My theory when Tyler says self-improvement is bullshit and self-destruction is the answer is that getting out of your comfort zone and doing things you don't want to do, like when he says to space apes starting and losing a fight, that's true self-improvement is not the one that makes you feel good in the moment but has achieved long-term benefits. Accept self-destruction (improvement). Let me know your theory I’m interesting

I thought the point was to stop wasting your life and that its literally showing us, how men need purpose or we will become like that. Obviously everything is up to interpretation I've not actually watched it for about 6 years lol. Oh and that the current working climate and how we are as a society is ruining our mental and basically become zombified having stagnated in such a boring mundane 9-5 life when we used to have purpose not just a shitty job and be a wage slave being depressed all the time LOL. All these men come to tyler because they have nothing to live for. I think I need to rewatch now aha.

In both american psycho and fight club, the whole message is that people become futile by only focusing on "self improvement", but in my opinion, some aspect has become futile if you're only putting effort on that, and nothing else. No, self improvement is not masturbation, but masturbating on your ego with self improvement is.

Everyone has their own Tyler durden, the narrators Tyler was everything that he wanted to be, not everyone's Tyler is out to destroy consumerism. You must become your own Tyler, be how you want to be, look how you want to look, speak how you want to speak, the more you do that the more you will let yourself become Tyler durden.

"People do it every day. They see themselves as they want to be. They just don't have the courage you have... to run with it," - Tyler Durden I think what he's trying to say is that Tyler Durden embodies what you want to become. So no, we're not literally becoming Tyler from the movie, rather, we are self-destructing who society and those around us are telling us who we are and letting go of all of the bullshit to become an authentic version of ourself free from fear

I personally see it the way the two other people who replied see it tho, just explained what the guy commented is probably saying.

Durden was a nihilistic extreme, the movie is a warning against this type of masculinity. Its funny that although tyler durden is supposedly anti modernity and anti consumerist, he represents everything that our society values in men. The point of fight club is for men to have a balance of the narrator and tyler durden, and to cultivate real human connection.

not completely true, the message he brings is great. Rip loose from consumerism and follow your dreams. become who you really want to be instead of constantly frying your brain with dopamine all day. Nevertheless, the way in which this is potrayed is very dramatic to make the movie interesting and to show the duality in the narrators own personality and tyler.
