    Don't forget to always set the shutter speed to the double of your frame rate to get a cinematic motion blur (Very important unless you have a point!).

    @@Levi_Zacharias You should remember this rule only if you're planning to slow down the footage. If you're just going to keep it at same fps you shot at, setting the shutter to 1/50 or 1/60 is ok.

    Shot a wedding last weekend on my new BMPCC 6K Pro. Used the slo-mo for a few moments (while retaining a 180 shutter) and it looked GORGEOUS

    I mean between "24fps, 30fps or 60fps" you could change the "Time Interpolation" from Frame Sampling to Optical Flow and then try slowing it down.. (This is available in Premiere Pro when Right Clicking on some sort of media which is in the timeline and selecting "Speed/Duration")

    I used the speed adjustment in Premiere Pro to do just that about 6 months ago. I had my son fire an arrow at a target 20 metres away, I shot it at 250fps on a Samsung Galaxy S9+ set at 1080p, after a bit of manipulation in Premiere, I managed to get an extra 100fps without noticeable difference in quality. The arrow behaved in the same way the arrow in the "Brave" clip did. Thanks for the tips though.

    You can interpolate better with depth aware interpolation instead of optical flow. I'd recommend DAIN or RIFE.

    Dredd is my favourite example of cinematic so-mo. Ma-ma's bath scene was beautifully done, but the falling scenes were incredible.

    You should really try out Twixtor in After Effects! It's astonishing what it can do with even 24FPS clips. Sometimes you can slow a clip down to like 10 percent and it looks real with the right clips.

    Good to know the correct ways of doing this. Usually, If i need slo motion, I just take my clip and interpolate to 120 fps then run that clip at 25% speed because i'm a hobbyist and I tend to say "fuck it".

    I definitely recommend the software DAINapp which uses AI to interpolate frames with proper depth. It's much better than Optical Flow or Pixel Motion frame blending, it just requires a decent GPU.

    You can use a program called FlowFrames for free. It's an AI frame interpolater, and I use it for all my 3D renders. Nowadays I just render every other frame and just run it through the program, and it looks the same.

    @@stolencoats63 It Chapter 2 used Frame Blending...once...in a flashback segment. Shazaam used frame sampling...once. This is what I mean.

    It doesn't surprise me or even bothers me that 10% of ZSJL is in slow motion. It´s part of his style and it is in a 4 hour movie. 24 minutes through out a 4 hour runtime... is alright.

    When filming slow-motion explosions, how did you properly expose the camera. As you said you need a lot of light, but too much or too little would ruin the shot. I also assume you had a limited number of tries?

    Little surprised Twixtor didn't get a mention. Sure, it's expensive, but it's the program I've been able to slow things down to 10-20% with and actually have the interpolated frames look good.

    There is a feature in speed duration in premiere where you can use ai and cpu to duplicate the frame rate of the video. The result is quiet good.

    Great demo. I was not happy that I can get "only" 240fps on my Sony A7SIII, but I will try that optical flow thing in post. Also for hand held video, maybe I should shoot at 60fps to keep it more steady.

    It’s actually not that hard on a trampoline. I think almost anybody could learn it if they set their mind to it. I’m not a gymnast or even that athletic or anything, but I almost landed one on flat ground on just a mat (with some guidance from a friend who could do them).

    300 fps at 50% is not 600 fps. It's 150 fps.

    Incorrect, since the scaling factor for speed is 100%=normal motion, lower values equal slower. 50% is half speed. Half speed of 300fps is 600fps. 200% speed of 300fps would equal 150fps.
