Haha. We did a vidoe testing different ways to get bloodnout of a mattress. We had someone who had a bloody nose drip all over a mattress so we could test it out. It was a mess, but that is how we figured our that ammonia was the very best.

Absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much for posting this. My 101 year old Mother has periodic accidents and injures her legs to the point of bleeding into her leather flock lined slippers. Tried ammonia with water and after a lot of dabbing and a bit of light rubbiing with the solution and shop towels the blood all came away. Rinsed the area with cold water and dried it with towels overnight. Slippers are wearable again. Thx again!

Peroxide just use pure peroxide. It will bubble like it does on a wound and almost no rubbing needed.

I take a Qtip to the edges. Then drops of Hydrogen peroxide. Dab & blot with a paper towel until clear.

Thank you so much now I cannget the left over blood stains out of my mattress. Between the gash on my hand reopening and my little ones busted lip it was a nightmare cleaning at 2am. Thats was the day I bought waterproof mattress protectors. This will come in handy for sure.

Toothpaste and tiny bit of water. Brush like it’s your teeth, blot it off, dry and vacuum.

It could lighten the upholstery. I would test it in an inconspicuous place first.

Please try Soilove stain remover It's in a green bottle I literally poured some on a month old deep blood stain with a little hydrogen peroxide and the stain lifted right before my eyes... literally magic!

Its not harsh like ammonia I promise

i heard a rumor about a woman (56 y/o) who got blood on their mattress cuz of period blood and the husband got so mad he killed her (on the same mattress!) Needless to say, the mattress got even more soaked with blood. Ironically, Ikea willingly accepeted the mattress as a return due to their generous 365-day "love it or return it" gaurentee. the moral of the story is to not do rash things, theres always an easier solution. For example the one you presented in this video is very practical. Thank you.

About 45 minutes. Plus drying time. Then another 15 minutes to do the second clean-up

That's why I have a Bamboo cover tgr protect my expensive mattress. However, my grandma always use baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, two drops of dish soap and that removes all stains. I wouldn't use ammonia on my mattress, very toxic.

My son gets narly nose bleeds, so bad that he needs to go to the hospital. He usually has them in his room all over the bed. So hopefully this works.

Yes just try to use as little liquid as possible because they're like a sponge. You can blot with a dry cloth pressed down after to try to absorb as much as possible. You can also use a fan or put in a ventilated space to dry. You want to prevent mold.

I have an old stain that I changed before, I forget with what, but it didn’t get it all out. Anyway, this didn’t do anything on that. No difference at all.

does lemon scented ammonia work the same as clear? where did you get yours from?

Make sure you have a waterproof mattress cover. There are also the reuseable inconvenience pads that can help.

I did this but it made a big stain on my mattress

folex carpet stain remover..is a product that works amazing on blood period staining.......apply plenty of product with clean white rags, and watch as the magic occurs as the stains vanish before your eyes.

Yes. When we tested it, hydrogen peroxide did not work nearly as well ammonia. That being said, our tests were with hydrogen peroxide mixed with a few other ingredients. We didn't try hydrogen peroxide on it's own, but we still think ammonia is better. Make sure to wear gloves and open windows.

We are religious about using a mattress cover but something spilled on it a couple days ago so we took it off and, of course, I woke up and now I’m cleaning my mattress 🤦🏽‍♀️

That’s how it always happens! You can put 2 on and then you have a backup when one is being washed.

I did use a mattress protector and I’m still here 😔 I tried everything hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, detergent, and scrubbing, nothing is getting rid of blood. I might have to try this later. I hate birth control but I might just get on it again after the experience of ruining my NEW mattress. Ugh.

It should still work. We tested this on a nose bleed. Hopefully it's not a lot like we had. If so, the biggest challenge is how much time it takes and how much you have to change water and cloths. I wondered if using a carpet cleaner to suck up the water would be better. Haven't tested it but we got a lot of area clean but not all.

I have tried hydrogen peroxide. Ammonia worked better, but hydrogen peroxide does help.

If it has ammonia in it, it will most likely work.👍 I have tested windex on fabric, but not on a mattress yet. Let me know how it works for you.

thats disgusting stay single. the sponge padding is still nasty. you will never get this out of the bed. just top coating.
