For those curious. I spent the day opening chests while farming swords (around 320 total, all chests count) and got 8 from them. Smallest drop gap was 28 and largest 55.

The reason why the wizards won't spawn for some people is because you didn't complete every overthrow. Go back and complete an overthrow you missed and once you finish the last one then the wizard will spawn in that corresponding area.

oh hilarious thing, make sure to check your hud if both you and your teammate are on prismatic and die at the same time, the game switched our buffs half way through the mission and we both got really confused for a minute

I also have 2 young sons, a wife, a 48hr/weekly (6p-6a) job, a house to maintain, and I train Muay Thai 2-3x/weekly. I still find time to complete everything I want. And I'm not some Eso type player. Stop complaining. Either play the game or don't. Your money doesn't mean you should be "given" anything. It just means you have "access" to everything. Whether or not you want to partake in that access is entirely up to you. But your shortcomings are not Bungie's problem. All you solo players complaining need to get over yourselves.

My dungeon speedrun partner and I greatly loved this mission. Hits the perfect stride of easy content with mechanics. Provides a decent rewards at the end while beeing a small time commitment. A secret mission that isnt force down your throat. It didnt feel like your standard exotic rotator, Its legit a dungeon. People need to stop complaining and enjoy the content at face value. As someone who had to take a break around Witch Queen despite playing from D1 beta. Bungie seems to be hitting a little stride. Most additions since Into the Light have genuinely been some of the great qol updates seen.

My friend & I discovered that because we hadn’t done in Overthrow in Impass yet, the extra bosses in the other 2 areas would not appear after completing Overthrows in those areas. You MUST complete Overthrow in all 3 areas at least once before doing this. When we did Overthrow in Impass that first time, the extra boss did appear, then the other 2 appeared in each of the other locations after completing Overthrow again.

Small correction. If BOTH people are prismatic, the fire team leader will always be light alligned, and the other person always dark. Took a few attempts with a huddy and while we were trying to figure out why we couldnt see the symbols we needed in the first enounter zone, we swapped a few times, and figured that out.

Love the vids man been watching you since d1. Also thanks for not spoiling the end of the mission cause that was the greatest thing ever. Such a cool ending and mission

Just gotta call out the positions of the 4 spokes and shoot the 1 that you both have in common, but you have to do it really fast because the combination changes every 5 seconds or so😂 me and my friend spent ages doing it cause our brains couldnt process the clock positions fast enough and we were laughing so hard😂

I did this with a friend, and honestly, i was pretty happy cause this was easy

As far as the miniboss not spawning after overthrow, this happened to me specifically in the blooming. Went to the impasse and it worked there so i decided to do the blooming last and that worked as well. Seems like the blooming might have to be the last one you do.

This is one the coolest missions i've ever done in Destiny.

Having just done the mission, this is a good guide. Quick note @Datto - You say you shot "12" for the clock section of the final boss, but you actually shot 1 in the video

He labeled them left to right(counterclockwise) instead of right to left(clockwise).

Decided to do this blind with a friend, it was one of the most enjoyable experiences ive had in destiny in YEARS The mission was perfect honestly and I am super happy how it looks on Warlock I ended up getting a Spirit of Ophidias and Spirit of The-Star-Eater which isnt perfect but was super exciting regardless. Probably wont take it off haha.

The most stupid thing : Time limit then kick out to orbit for the puzzle solving mission while every mistake, I remind every mistake will make mission fail . And there Bungie error code happen in the end ...Have fun for long ass mission without checkpoint

You can mess up several times in this mission and be fine. It's also as long as a nightfall, so I don't see why it needs a checkpoint. Unless you were bad/slow it's not an issue

I think the special bosses after you complete an overthrow won't spawn if you haven't completed a tier 4 overthrow in all 3 areas (landing, blooming & impasse). They weren't spawning for me until I went and did all 3 and then they started spawning

Replying here to further confirm, had the same issue and it turned out I had never completed an Overthrow at the Impasse before. Make sure you have done an overthrow in each region before trying to do this

Checked out of destiny right after forsaken. It’s great to see that Datto is still the destiny encyclopedia. Some things don’t change

Just did this mission and it was so much fun. Challenging, but not impossible. Good stuff, Bungie!

Word of warning, me and and friend did this while both running prismatic and our alignments just... left. I no longer had dark and he no longer had light and we couldn't progress plates at a certain point meaning we just had to restart.

Same thing happened to my friend at the end of the mission. I had my light alignment, but he didn't have his dark alignment. Thankfully reviving him fixed it, so it does work.

My friend and I tried to do it blind on reset and got stuck on the clocks until 3 am where we decided to give up. This may be the best exotic mission bungie ever cooked up

You're actually a psycho for telling me to go into that mission blind, I get you're a raider but only 10% have completed raids and done mechanics similar to this we spent 32 minutes to reset cause we couldn't for the life of us understand that clock room and considering reseting puts you back to the the very start you gotta do an entire run to even try the room you're stuck on again, what a complete headache

That section at about the 6 minute part where the walls push out, you can skip that by jumping on the hands out in the middle, then to the platform you come out on at the end of that little crawl section

im pretty you have to have each overthrow done in each place first

Little tip that helped me on my first run, at the beginning of mission as soon as you come out the cave there is a crystal in a hole in the wall that gave me extra time at the very end (what I mean is we had 0 seconds left and savathun laughed and gave us 2mins and 30secs) which quite literally lets us beat the bosses afterwards

There’s another crystal in the platfroming area but it’s harder to explain and seem you can only have on active at time

Me and a LFG random figured it out mostly from zero but there WERE times I had to pull up a guide bc I was definitely missing something. We didn't beat it bc the final encounter threw us for a loop but we will attempt again tomorrow :)

Reminds me of the whole secret trigger event on IO for the original Whisper mission.

Even if you thought the expansion was literal psychological torture you still gotta recognize that it has the best music

BUNGIE IS STILL COOKING. THIS EXOTIC MISSION IS AWESOME. Got me Foetracer/Gryfalcon role first run. Ez god roll, especially with this season's artifact mod.

I wasn't getting the witches to spawn, so I just started completing all Overthrow bosses for the motes of light, and after killing my EIGHTH boss, Savathun finally laughed at me and I was able to find my first witch. I went to the other to locations, did another overthrow in each, and killed my final witch. I even did the two orbs solo to unlock the flag, and the mission node stayed on my map, so now I can launch whenever, though I've heard that the other person also has to have the node unlocked in order to launch the mission.

so I understand all the stuff before the mission node needs to be complete before reset or we need to start again. But you are saying that once the node unlocked to start the mission is there, it does not go away. So you can stop at that point and come back at a later day with someone else who also has the node unlocked and then run the 7 minute mission?

Dual Destiny is in fact in the LFG. You need to unlock it by doing the secret overthrow stuff first before it will appear, but as soon as the mission banner appears, you can LGF for it.

@@Johnston212 I'm not saying that I want them to keep doing stuff like this where you need a team for a 20+ minute activity, I just want the quests (and the game in general) to have this kind of love put into them. TFS easily clears every other expansion we've ever had, and I've been playing from day one. I just want more of, y'know, this.

@@GryphinHusky I kind of agree with you. I'm never going to be able to enjoy this mission, that's just not a remote possibility, but I appreciate what they tried to do. I think that sometimes they go too far with their puzzles. I wish I could enjoy Zero Hour, but I utterly despise that mission. Take away the timer and I might have the ability to enjoy it. Allow me to kill Trevor and I will absolutely love it

@@Johnston212Zero Hour is fine, the timer in this mission though is not so fine, since it has raid mechanics due to the timer, if you remove the timer then it acts as any other exotic mission just more special which is what i think they were trying to do

It was really fun. I am mainly a solo player but all I had to do was request a chill and patient player and we got it done first try. It was super fun. My only complaint that last clock puzzle is super duper quick. It can be a bit hard to keep up with it.

The social anxiety is so bad that you cannot call out "I have _____ symbol", "I am on plate" or "it is at X o'clock"? (OR just use the text chat function???)

This mission absolutely requires communication (I had to break out my mic for the first time in years). It's only one person though, it's not like you need to get a whole raid team together.

While I have people I can play with, I hope there's a decent handful of people that will happily help people through this. I would too if my symbol names weren't really confusing/silly, because it's a fun and short mission if you have good intuition and survivability

Hey Datto, If anyone is not getting the wizards to spawn it is likely because they have not done each of the overthrows 1 time prior to trying to get the wizards to spawn. So essentially each overthrow needs to be done 2 times. Do all 3 for first time completion, do each again to spawn wizard.

Having friends/not having crippling social anxiety must be nice...

Only thing that I've seen that I dislike is that it is yet ANOTHER timer mission. Why cant we just get a cool exotic mission where we don't need to feel constant pressure. I'm sure some people enjoy that extra push but for me it triggers my anxiety. But it also doesn't help that so many people in LFG are toxic as all get out and I don't really want to get yelled at lol.

I get where you're coming from, i i think they want a degree of mastery shown for successful mission completions. Any mission without a timer is beatable with enough bodies, even dungeons/raids, but putting a timer makes it to where you have to execute to some degree

Just slow down, I promise. The timer gives you more than enough time to make mistakes, and if you do one encounter first try, you can do the next with the leftover time +10 mins

“Very rare” is an extreme understatement. I ran like 8 full back to back overthrows earlier and never got a single one to drop.

Cool how they dropped a new secret mission
