Datto saved me. I was missing 3 motes and one was from meatball

PSA. Collect the Sword Dance Bit while doing the Cyst, NOT at the end. You need the sword to get to the Bit, and whichever pervert at Bungie designed this one made the swords despawn after you complete the Cyst.

It seems that some bosses just straight up dont drop motes of light sometimes and they can fall of the map with no way to collect them, honestly I have no idea what brilliant minds at Bungie decided they should be physical objects rather something tied to triumph.

Region Chest locations start at 0:57 Cyst, and Scrap Heap, locations starts at 3:55 Legendary Khvostov location at 10:25 , (requires 15 "Lost Encryption Bits" from Regional Chests & Scrap Heaps found in Cyst activities) Mote of Light locations start at 11:09 Exotic Khvostov location at 16:55 , (requires 17 "Mote of Light" from open world secrets & unique drops from each Overthrow boss)

@@Shadoxas As far as I, and seemingly Datto, knows; yes. I think you need all 17 motes. Some of which are from the overthrow bosses, and the rest can be found as the traveler looking symbols in secret places. The time-stamp shows Datto running to each of these "secret" objects. That is what Datto insists in this video, at the very least.

To anyone losing their mind in the blooming trying to get the servitor boss to spawn and do that first, they've removed it from rotation until it can be fixed, so exotic khvostov is currently impossible to get unless you killed the servitor before they took it out of rotation EDIT: Servitor boss is now spawning again

I think my favorite part from this was the region chest section is seeing Danielle helping out by standing at the locations and dancing.

Just as a warning, it looks like the encryption bits in cysts are based on the party leader. I went with a buddy through the sword dance cyst when they were lead, it wasnt there, and when i ran it on my own it showed up. Either that or a minor bug, but, worth mentioning if anyone else gets very condused at 14 bits.

victim of the meatball here: you cannot re-get the motes after it eats them. however, when you do kill it if it *is* your last, the exotic mote is in the instance somewhere: the death animation just launches it, so you have to find it. some people say it flies as far as out of the cave, and some people say it flies into the wall.

If you do have the Meatball as the final boss you need, on its death, it converts all the motes into that Giga exotic one. The death animation of the meatball typically sends the exotic mote flying somewhere on the map. You can still collect it. Seems just exploring blooming after its death can lead you to find it. Sometimes even running against the walls as it could get stuck there as well.

I did the meatball early on but i only have 16 motes with all the statues done and have beaten each of the unique bossses in overthrow so I'm guessing mine bugged out a different way and won't be able to get it.

In the exact same boat. Didn’t know about the glitch, got my motes eaten somehow, and am stuck at 16/17 because I killed all the Overthrow bosses before realizing my first mote was eaten. All we can do is wait for a fix, unfortunately.

Same, all triumphs, all bosses killed, 16/17. Defo linked to the Taken Servitor. "To address issues obtaining the Khvostov 7G-0X exotic, we have removed the Taken Servitor boss from The Blooming's Overthrow rotation. A fix to address players currently blocked from obtaining Khvostov will be deployed in a future update." So at least Bungo know and are fixing it.

The bug happened to me. The servitor boss drops the mote of light AFTER returning to orbit. If the mote is the 17th mote, then all of your motes are removed and you dont get the exotic mote, softlocking you. To prevent this, dont get all of the traveler orb collectibles until you kill the servitor boss in the Blooming, AND return to orbit afterwards, the orbit part is what got me.

use DIM to move your motes to the vault and then kill the meatball again. worked for me i was stuck on the last mote

I’ve always wondered how the recommended power system works, but never got a clear answer. When it says that your power is capped at say, 1985. But the recommendation is 2000. Does the game- (A) Check for the power cap, and then drop you accordingly. So if I’m 1990, I would drop to 1985. (B) Drop you power by 15, then double checks if you’re still under the cap. Same 1990 power, but it drops to 1975.

If the power is capped at a specific value and you are over it, you will be dropped down to that level while in the activity

Recommended power is the power of the activity or the enemy. The cap is like what you said at A. This means you don't get any benefit from being higher, for eaxample GMs once at cap you get no benefit from getting higher,.. however if you are lower you deal less damage and take more damage. One last thing is there are activities where the light power disabled.. like for example this season legendary campaign.. whatever your light is does not matter you are pre set on a certain light level relative to the activity.

There is also a general cap by bungie for even the activity that you can level up to pass the recommended activity level to make it easier...this mechanic is to make sure you don't over level anything in the game so they remain relevant and so you can't one shot strike Bosses for example. The general cap is 50 as far as I remember.

Any word on a fix for the people who got meatballed? You fight meatball last and get the exotic mote but lose your regular boss motes and that makes you unable to open the chest. You are also unable to farm the regular boss motes after getting them the first time..... Sucks.

I found the easy one in the impasse area and dumped it in the speakers room, not realising what it was for. Then went in to collect region chests and locations as per the vid equalling 16 motes of light + the one I dumped already. So have I buggered it up??? Cuz need 17 motes of light to then get the legendary one

As of June 11th, Bungie posted they fixed the issue and enabled the Servitor in the Blooming, but the mote isn't consistently dropping for all players.

I used to follow your guides a lot, but this one is pretty bad. There is no efficiency in the time it takes us to get all these. Maybe show us where the traveler collectibles are while we are doing the cysts activities... Also some are not clearly shown where they are in your vid and no context how to get there. Is there a bug with mote of light? Done all steps 2 times to see if i missed something, But im still sitting at 16 mote of light

It's bugged and you can get stuck at 16/17 motes. "To address issues obtaining the Khvostov 7G-0X exotic, we have removed the Taken Servitor boss from The Blooming's Overthrow rotation. A fix to address players currently blocked from obtaining Khvostov will be deployed in a future update." That Taken Servitor was CONSUMING your light, not dropping it. Hopefully the next update will fix this.

Kovostov quest bug I have found EVERYTHING for the legendary and exotic kovostov but the legendary lost encryption code is missing and I don't know what to do . Anyone had the same issue ? Or know the solution.

This is the most monotonous quest for and exotic.

The cuts you make don't help. Can't find certain collectibles cuz you aren't showing the full path fyi

Ive got 16 motes and dont recall ever fighting a meatball boss, i also read they disabled the meatball because of the bug where it eats all your motes..so am i just locked out of getting khovostov for now then?
