There is also some amount of confusion on " do I have to send my brp/passport in original if I have a share code and things like that." Ashika you are adding great value to your audience... So I'm a UK citizen with a passport, but I have only just moved "back into" the UK (never lived here in my life) With access to an address where I have now got my bank account (again recently) will I be allowed to apply straight away? or do I need to wait until 185 days have passed? if anyone knows, that would be amazing!

If i arrived here just 2 months ago from India, can i still apply for a provisional licence and give my theory test or do i have to wait for 185 days? I heard somewhere that now you can give your theory before 185 days as well but for the practical u have to wait for 185 days?

Just a quick question. If I apply for provisional license will my international licence be void? As i can't find the rule, but have heard people geting fined for driving on provisional license while international licence still had some months to expire.

I don’t think so you have to be in UK for 180 days or more to get your license I think the government site says that you need to have a PERMISSION to stay for more than 180 days in UK If you need to apply for a license. Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong in the comments That would be helpful. Thanks. 1:50

Wonderful explanation! I currently have Irish licence and it’s almost the same lengthy and difficult process here as well. Attaining a Driving Licence in EU and UK is a big thing, whereas in US and Canada it’s way cheaper and easier process.

If you are an overseas driver, you can still get insurance with your Canadian license and obviously easy with a UK license after you swap. I'd reco these guys: bit.ly/3Jyud5d

Technically you should be because you don't have to revoke your International license until 12 months are up.

That's not true. Expats move temporarily, immigrants move permanently.
