How to get a (tourist) VISA to CAMEROON from the US (as a US citizen) in 2023 | A step-by-step guide
I had a few questions after my last video in 2020 about the things you should know before traveling to Cameroon, West Africa. And so in this video, since I returned from Cameroon barely a month ago, I would like to answer those questions by going step-by-step, walking you through the process to get a visa to Cameroon from the US (as a US citizen) which is relatively easy.

Disclaimer
The Doxycycline pictured in the video is 200mg. Mom and I took 100mg initially. Bought 200mg while in Cameroon (it's cheaper there and we ran out of the 100mg ones) and then split the 200mg pill in half to keep up with the 100mg dosage. Talk to your medical professional/doctor for appropriate dosage for yourself please.
Also this video only applies if you have a US passport

Yes this doesn’t apply anymore as of 2024
Hello Everyone I just wanted to share that I finally got my visa. When I thought all hope was lost I finally got it. I applied from the US standard time which can be up to 15 business days not counting weekends or holidays. I applied on november 2 and got it today. The payment gave me trouble at first but then I tried three time then it finally work. Don’t not change the settings to English keep it in French. Make sure you apply three months in advance though I applied 1 month in advance. Trying to contact them doesn’t work as they never respond. Biggest advice please apply ahead of time, double check all your paper work, if your purchasing your ticket make sure you leave enough time for the visa. Overall after all the praying and crying I finally got it good luck everyone it eventually works. 🙏🏾

Hello All Please can someone advice if the Cameroon E-Visa is still applicable because I've been stocked on the payment section for 2 days now. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.
We've been able to bypass purchasing our flights before receiving visas by going through the booking process and printing the summary page right before submitting payment. Also, it's good to double and triple check your application packet before sending because the embassy does NOT answer the phone or email. For my first trip, I applied and someone from the embassy left me a voicemail requesting more info and I called back immediately and continued to call and email for days and days and never got through to anyone. They ended up returning my packet and I had to pay again to send it back.
Hello it’s me again. I am almost done with the application I am at the payment section but I am having issues. When I am try to select the state for my billing address for my card information it doesn’t let me select the state. No state appears on the drop tab. What do I do. Thank you

That’s definitely a new feature that I’m not familiar with. We paid via check which we did via snail mail. And this was just last year. Perhaps give them a call. Perhaps you have to pay via check or money order.

Hello does anyone know how long it takes for the application to get approved? I paid for a standard visa and I applied from the US.

Good afternoon. Only now seeing your message. For me, it took about a week. But they say on the website if I’m not mistaken it could be up to 15 business days for standard. It should be noted on the website. Please verify.
Hello can anyone tell me how much does it cost to get a tourist visa. I am applying for the first time with a us passport. Thank you

Ok so it looks like the prices went up on the website. So for a short stay (6 months and under) non express it is $181.82. For a longer visit (up to year) which I’m assuming that isn’t how long you’re staying, it is $272.73. This is per person.

I sent my application once they were notified me when. They got it. They denied me the visa the first time cuz I didn't have the yellow fever shot. I went and got it then resent my application they got it on Monday on the January 30th according to usps tracking then on February first I checked back the system says my stuff is in transit. I'm wondering why it was so quick? Did they deny me the visa for a second time or sometime the process may take less than 7 business days ?

Well for that, I’m not entirely sure. I would assume your info is already in the system and so sending it a second time with the correction made it faster
Does a greencard holder or permanent resident need a visa to Cameroon?

That’s a great question. I personally never traveled until I got my US passport but I don’t think you need a visa if you have a green card because you’re technically still a Cameroonian( if you came to US from Cameroon that is)
Please where is the application mailed to?? Adress please. I just want to be sure .

It will be mailed to the Cameroonian embassy in Washington DC. The address should be on the website. Embassy of the Republic of Cameroon 2349 Massachusetts Avenue N.W Washington, DC 20008
